MATTS875 Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Well, I sold my Mooney last week.It was a difficult decision , but the things I wanted to do to it would have cost me so much money , I chose to sell and wait for a 201 to come up.The things I was going to have to do was re-seal the tanks, Paint job, and reconfigure the panel and install an autopilot. That being said I figured I was about to spend upwards of 35k..hated to see it go, but I just like the updated models.I shouldhave known this before my purchase but was trying to be somewhat economical..So much for that thought. But I did want to thanks everyone on here for all the responses to the many questions I had.I do find it amazing that when people are trying to sell an aircraft, very seldom do they mention the tanks being resealed or bladders installed, which in my opinion is a great expense. 7k-10k.thanks again. I sold the plane to INDY AIR SALES if anyone has any questions please pm me and I will be glad to answer any .. Quote
FAST FLIGHT OPTIONS LLC Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 One of the main reasons I sold my 201 was lack of a good two axsis auto pilot and the fact that it needed paint. I didnt want to invest the kind of money required to install an STEC 55X which is the kind of capability i was looking for. After selling my J I upgraded to a 231 with the King KFC 200 A/P which I love and has been problem free. I would now once again like to upgrade to a glass panel Bravo. Am I the only one always wanting to go higher and faster? Quote
N601RX Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 I saw it listed a few days ago and wnadered what was. The paint job made it easy to recoginze. Quote
FAST FLIGHT OPTIONS LLC Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Yep, someone is going to be getting a great plane that’s updated, problem free and a joy to fly. I like it so much that I’m not going to negotiate the price all that much. It's one of the few that’s never been on its belly. I would probably be as content keeping her knowing I have something that's corrosion free with engine compressions which have remained in the 70’s year after year. Never had to cancel a flight due to anything mechanical (knock on wood) Quote
scottfromiowa Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Hope you recover your investment and find a great 201. I of course love your outgoing bird as it's N number is a mere one digit from mine. No requirement to do both tanks at same time...I plan to do one side each year as I am close to Wilmer...Paint is a "someday" for me. I can already check the panel/interior upgrade box. Post a link for your sale location. Thanks, Scott Quote
silent101 Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Been looking at possibility going out and taking a look at the plane. Can you tell me any major issues beside the fuel tanks need resealing? How was the engine because I see it wasn’t getting flown much and going on 12 years with 277 hrs since overhaul. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Quote
FloridaMan Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I think I just saw this plane doing touch and goes at KSPG Quote
Kkessler Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 N3425X is now owned by Travis Laughlin - a deckhand on the F/V Time Bandit on the Discovery channel's Deadliest Catch televvision series.
