Mine was expected to be 300 - 400 hours. It was longer Standard contract of requiring approval before doing any additional work. The work consists of stripping out whole plane and redoing harnesses for the new panel, EIS and AP. Note that the estimated 260 hours is billed labor. Downtime is estimated to be 10 weeks or roughly 400 hours. Quote

They now do separate classes for G500TXi and G3X Touch, both with GTN navigators. 2 days of hands on with all the instructors were CFIIs. Agree, I am on their schedule for Oct 14-15 :-) Also got a local flight school with G3X and GFC 500 to familiarize myself with the avionics. Quote

The local flight school will teach you the basics. My local school has the same. The Garmin course will teach you a LOT more. Quote
Z W Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 It costs what it costs, and it takes as long as it takes. That can be painful, but I've found months or years later, the pain has faded and every time the panel lights up, just works, and does what it's supposed to do. The increased capability, situational awareness, and safety seem worth it. Quote
Pinecone Posted June 25 Author Report Posted June 25 I would have liked for it too take less time. And to have cost less. But I am happy with end result. The check is written, that pain is fading. Now, to just enjoy it. Quote

shawnd Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 Found the photos here: But yes - finished photos always welcome! Speaking of MooneyMax - what's the plan with folks? I have never been and the thread on MS is also quiet. Anyone have any updates? Quote

I took some a couple of days ago, but too much light from the hangar being open. I will get some better ones next time I go to the hangar. Quote

Anyone have any updates? Probably not much to say. Dates are set. Hotel deal is in place. Registration is open. So book your hotel and register and show up. Last year, the way the venue was, it was not convenient to show off your plane or panel. Mooney Summit was better, as they had the first afternoon at the airport. Quote

We will be able to get a good look at your panel. Quote
Pinecone Posted June 30 Author Report Posted June 30 Airplane is home. Putting a few hours on it, and finding a few things, hopefully only configuration things. 2 Quote
ArtVandelay Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 I assume one of those things is the manifold pressure sensor needs calibration. Quote
Marc_B Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 @Pinecone panel looks good! Did you get synthetic vision? I find it's super helpful and the flight path marker makes seeing where you're going and aiming at the runway a breeze. Well worth the cost to me! Quote

I don’t believe it’s a paid option (at least, it came with mine and I didn’t have to do anything special to get it ). Quote

This was in the hangar with the door closed to control the light. So no GPS signal, so no terrain, as it did not know where it was. Quote
