Tim-37419 Posted November 18, 2023 Report Posted November 18, 2023 Had a little mishap today and pulled a panel off when I was trying to take the seat back off of a rear seat, which, by the way was unsuccessful. Does anyone know what kind of glue to use? Can I get it at the aviation aisle at Michael’s? Quote
RoundTwo Posted November 18, 2023 Report Posted November 18, 2023 My side panels were attached with double sided tape. No need to get fancy. Quote
Tim-37419 Posted November 19, 2023 Author Report Posted November 19, 2023 lol. I actually have some of that in our junk drawer. Every time my wife is in the hanger she sees something and says “I’ve been wondering what happened to that“. I then pretend not to hear what she said. Quote
Brandt Posted November 19, 2023 Report Posted November 19, 2023 I used industrial strength velcro. All good so far. 1 Quote
PT20J Posted November 20, 2023 Report Posted November 20, 2023 I like 3M Dual Lock tape. Holds better than Velcro. I've used double sided carpet tape, but it takes a lot of it to hold the panels down. I don't want to glue them because sometimes I have to remove them to get the side panels off. 1 Quote
M20F-1968 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Go to Auto Zone or similar and get 3M Interior adhesive in a green spray can. It is a yellow-colored spay that acts like contact cement. Works well. John Breda 1 1 Quote
Tim-37419 Posted November 21, 2023 Author Report Posted November 21, 2023 To close this out, I ended up buying old school contact cement from 3M that comes in a can with a brush attached to the lid. It worked great, potentially too good but I won’t know unless I try to remove the panel. I don’t see a reason I would ever have to so… thank you all for your responses. Tim 1 Quote
