Does anyone know if there is in the works for more Aspen Max compatible Auto pilots out there? I had the Aerocruze 230 lined up for install and my installer at the last minute realized that the Auro Cruze wasn't just a plug-in replacement for my KFC 150(despite being advertised). It required it's own ADHRS module for another $3500 since BK has not pursuded using the ASPN MAX . At best the aspen would talk with the 230 no better than it did with my KFC 150. Yes it would/should be an improvement with having a smarter brain, but I was annoyed that BK is once again overpromising and under delivering again. I love to see the GFC 600 STC'd to the M20. S-tec got back to me and they're not pursing STC'ing the Mooney for the 3100, Avidyne is not pursing with the DFC90. The GFC 500 requires a G5 and I doubt Garmin will create a module for the GFC 500 to talk with the MAX for ADHRS . Decided to pursue other avionic upgrades while I wait, but it's only time when either a servo or a module dies.

Short term ? No.

I’m hoping that Aspen’s involvement in UAV might lead to some hardware for our dinosaurs.

Avidyne could do with an increase in its portofolio too…

Avidyne already has DFC90, all they have to do is certify it for Mooneys, which they said they would do years ago when it was introduced.
Only Garmin seems to be able to back up their promises.

I had similar wants for my 231. I have a KFC 200 with an Aspen Max but currently have KI 525a driving it. The only option I found was to install Aspens ACU 100 and replace the KI525a with either a Garmin G5 or GI 275 then remove the vacuum system, Then instal Aspen's APS4 to use with the Aspen for a altitude pre-select

I have a 231 with a KFC200 that is being driven by my Aspen.  If you get the ACU100 you can keep the KI525a if you want, but the Aspen will work with the KFC200 just fine.

And I also have the 3rd party Altitude Select.  Not as graceful as the Altitude PRE Select that could be added to the KFC200, but a LOT less money.  And I punch the button as a backup in busy airspace.  There have been times when I've paused before I respond, write something down or make a change as I'm nearing my Altitude.  But then I've gone ahead and done the other task and just monitored the Alt. Select to make sure it does level off.  Worked every time, so worth the money when flying single pilot IFR.

(Also have a GI275 as a backup AI.  But didn't see a need to have something other than by PFD driving the autopilot.)

Do you need the acu 100 and the ea-100 modules to drive the KFC OR A KAP from the Aspen max

They make an ACU (Analog Converter Unit) and an ACU2.

You'd need the both ACU and the EA-100 (Electronic Attitude) for a King autopilot.
