Mann Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 Is there a resource for finding colors used in previous Mooney paint schemes? I have a couple of areas in need of touch up. My E model was repainted in 1996 with the White/Deep Red/ Gold accents used during that time, but the paint listed for white is listed as whisper gray. This doesn't appear to match. Is there a source to find the colors used? It is a very common paint scheme. Any help is appreciated. Quote
Hank Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 New same-code paint won't match the 26-year-old paint on your plane. The best bet is to remove an inspection panel and take it to your local paint shop, they can color match it for touchup work. Then you just have to apply it . . . . Quote
Pinecone Posted October 27, 2022 Report Posted October 27, 2022 Make sure you take an inspection panel that was exposed similar to the area you need to touch up. Paint on the underside of the wing will not match paint on the top after 20+ years. Quote
Hank Posted October 27, 2022 Report Posted October 27, 2022 take the big avionics access panel, it should have all of your colors on it. Quote
