PT20J Posted July 25, 2022 Report Posted July 25, 2022 According to the Pilot's Guide (RevD): "METAR data us displayed on the Map Page and the Weather (WX) Page. An abbreviated version can be viewed by touching the METAR Flag." I touched but no cigar. I tried it on both the Map and WX pages. I tried zooming way in but that didn't help either. I can get airport info by touching the airport symbol, but I cannot get METAR info by touching the flag. Am I missing something? Has anyone gotten this to work? Skip Quote
Ragsf15e Posted July 28, 2022 Report Posted July 28, 2022 Interesting… this is no help, but that’s exactly the functionality of a G1000 if you activate the arrow cursor and move it on top of the flag. I understand you have touch, but is there any cursor function? What about with traffic? Can you touch traffic and get additional details? Quote
PT20J Posted July 29, 2022 Author Report Posted July 29, 2022 I figured it out today with help from someone on BeechTalk. When you touch an airport with a METAR flag, you get an abbreviated popup adjacent to the airport symbol with some airport data. Also a small window opens up at the bottom of the map that has a link to the expanded airport data page. You can scroll this link horizontally and get a link to the page with METAR data. The Pilot's Guide doesn't really explain it well and it's not very intuitive, but it does work. It would be much more useful if you got a pop up with the METAR data like ForeFlight does. With the G3X, it's a lot of gestures if you want to check weather at several airports. That's why I keep my iPad on a yoke mount. Skip 1 Quote

Skip I’m surprised they used all that scrolling as well since you just hover over the flag on a g1000 and it pops up the metar. Possibly a real estate limitation? Quote
