actually I have the same setup in my M20F too!

I would not want an aircraft without one. Been raving so much about it that one of my best friends wants to install one in his, hence the email. I have forwarded your contact details to him. Many thanks! Would love to meet up for a beer too but unfortunately I am a bit far away! (UK)

Where are you installing it?  I'd really like one, but will likely go with an -830 upgrade as an interim step ahead of a full panel overhaul at some point in the future (likely not the near future, either).  I would like it in the center stack, and not all the way over on the right but I haven't played with a new panel layout yet.

So, we are putting the EDM-930 in the left panel. It is a new panel (owner produced part, enough .100 aluminum for three panels was less than $40 at Metal Shorts in Seattle at Boeing Field) with a 4-pack and a single Aspen PFD, switches and the 930 display. That's it, don't need the old engine cluster (for sale now), nor do we need a backup course indicator. The FAA accepts the course indicator displays on the GNS-430 and SL-30 as backups. The center radio stack is a PMA-7000, GNS-430W, SL30, and KT76A. Total blankness from there all the way to the circuit breakers. Lightweight, and enough redundancy for what we want. I have a DME in the Aerostar for the full-up backup ILS capability, but in the Mooney it is probably not cost effective.

We also have a paper cutout for where the DFC 90 goes. It will be worth the wait.

Scott, did you see where JPI now has the EDM-900, it is about as big as the -830 exterior, more/better screen, less bezel, certified for PRIMARY indications. Smaller and easier to retrofit than the -930, about the same price though.

Your anti-upgrade meds may need a dosage increase. Sorry about that. Embarassed
