jmbaute Posted June 27, 2022 Report Posted June 27, 2022 Was wondering if anyone has a scrap pilot's side yoke (with PC valve hole) that they have lying around? I'll pay shipping. Looking to 3d print or fabricate an add on electric trim switch but the plane is 45 mintues away and I am more of an iterative design type of guy. Thanks in advance, John Quote
carusoam Posted June 28, 2022 Report Posted June 28, 2022 There should be a few dozen that have been taken out of service… Many have suffered from corrosion or cracks due to less than perfect maintenance in their history… These issues caused them to be removed because of AW…. Since the hole is a simple drilled cylindrical shape… You might get started with requesting hole dimensions… Next step…there are a few pre-flown parts dealers around here… But, to get a business man to release free parts probably isn’t likely… Expect there is a cost for a near useless non-AW part…. But not much. In the scheme of things… 45 minutes away? That could have happened 11 hours ago… Good luck! post pics of your project when able. Best regards, -a- Quote
Seymour Posted June 28, 2022 Report Posted June 28, 2022 PM sent. My spare is airworthy, but I paid $250 for it on ebay earlier this year. Quote
MBDiagMan Posted June 30, 2022 Report Posted June 30, 2022 I can’t help you job, but who did the leather wrap in the picture? Quote

MBDiagMan Posted June 30, 2022 Report Posted June 30, 2022 Thanks for the reply gat! Does that tape stay in place well? Is it sticky back? Did it take two bicycles worth to do both yokes? Quote
gatmow Posted July 1, 2022 Report Posted July 1, 2022 Just one set for the two yokes. It’s staying in place so far, it has a thin strip of sticky back to hold in place, but I pulled pretty hard while applying it. My thought being that tighter will allow to to better take shape of the contours on the yoke and hopefully will help with it remaining in place. Cheers, Matt. Quote

I've wrapped hundreds of bicycle handlebars, and you have the right idea. Good Job. @jmbaute John, your yoke looks great, whoever wrapped them did an excellent job. And sorry, although I do have a scrap yoke (not Mooney), it wouldn't work for your needs, wrong design. ~ Bob Quote
gatmow Posted July 1, 2022 Report Posted July 1, 2022 Thanks Bob! Sorry to OP - Didn’t mean to highjack the thread! Quote
