0TreeLemur Posted May 30, 2022 Report Posted May 30, 2022 I've got two old fuel senders that I bought a while back. Just in the past month or so the R.H. sender in our C has decided to get jumpy. I see in the parts manual that the R.H. is P/N 5641991. These senders don't have part numbers on them that I can discern. Which one is the R.H. sender? I'd guess that the bent arm with the float on it points aft? I could send one of these in to Air Parts of Lockhaven for an o.h. Thx. Quote
0TreeLemur Posted June 8, 2022 Author Report Posted June 8, 2022 Anyone want to take a swing at this softball? Quote
Skates97 Posted June 8, 2022 Report Posted June 8, 2022 I'll be at the hangar a little later today and see if the ones I pulled out of my '65D have numbers on them. 1 Quote
0TreeLemur Posted June 11, 2022 Author Report Posted June 11, 2022 @Jpravi8tor thanks, but my fuel senders don't look like that. They look like this: Quote

They look like this: Sorry for taking so long to get the pics. That one is the left sender. Mine that I removed don't have any numbers on them, but when I took them out I ran new wires for the new senders so mine still have the original wires on them with the numbers stamped on them. Here is a picture of the senders. The one on the left has the -071 stamped on the wire making it the RH sender. Quote
jamesm Posted June 12, 2022 Report Posted June 12, 2022 I have replaced my whole 6 pack OEM engine gauge cluster and senders out of 67C. Replaced them CGR 30C&P, and CIES fuel senders. They were working when removed. If you are interested for spare/backup parts. James '67C Quote
0TreeLemur Posted June 13, 2022 Author Report Posted June 13, 2022 Thanks Rich @Skates97! Really appreciate it. So, the bend in the arm at the float points forward! I thought it would point aft. So much for my thinkin'. I appreciate you letting us know you have those parts available James @jamesm. Somebody will need them. I bought a removed set from someone a couple of years ago just in case this happened. I replace the left one last year, and now must do the right. Gotta send that off to Air Parts of Lockhaven for rebuild. In my experience, when they are working, the old analog senders are fine. According to the logs on our bird, they worked fine until recently- meaning they lasted over 50 years. The right hand sender recently developed a noisy signal. It just occurred to me that before sending off for a rebuild and replacement, I should probably double check all the connections between the sender and the JPI EDM900. Signal noise like this from a variable resistor just seems odd... Quote
