Mkruger2021 Posted March 17, 2022 Report Posted March 17, 2022 Hello, Anyone have spare inlet screens? I opened the tank the other day to work on sealing the tanks with some noticable staining and fuel loss near the fuel transmitter. I happen to notice that the previous tank seal job got sealant on the screen. Im luck to have notice this as this baby must of been working overtime. Does anyone have a solution to the problem? I tried to clean it...A real pain! IMG_0738.HEIC IMG_0737.HEIC IMG_0735.HEIC IMG_0736.HEIC Quote

Loewen Mooney Salvage is pretty close to you. https://www.loewensmooneysalvage.com/ Alternatively (if you haven’t tried it), one of the poly-something sealant softeners that the tank reseal people use might be successful to remove the sealant. Good luck… Quote

RLCarter Posted March 17, 2022 Report Posted March 17, 2022 Soak it in a container (sealed) of MEK, should come right off after an overnight soaking 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted March 17, 2022 Report Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) Heat it up in a propane torch and burn the sealant off it. Edited March 17, 2022 by N201MKTurbo Quote
Jsno Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Mine had slosh coat from a previous owner. MEK and a wire brush will work. Quote
carusoam Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Spare pre-flown Mooney parts…. Dial @Alan Fox… +1 for solvent cleaning, and flame cleaning… PP thoughts only, not a mechanic… -a- Quote
