Mad Mikey Posted December 12, 2021 Report Posted December 12, 2021 I own a 1979 M20J model. Recently I went on a night flight. All of the overhead lights and baggage lights were working perfectly. About two weeks after the flight, I went to turn on all the lights and none of them worked. I checked the bulbs with a multi meter and they are good. Any ideas where to start to track this down. N201MKTurbo Posted December 12, 2021 Report Posted December 12, 2021 I have the schematic for your plane, but it is hard to read. It looks like those light are fused by the FM05 fuses in the lighting dimmer. 1 Quote
N231BN Posted December 12, 2021 Report Posted December 12, 2021 The overhead lights are on the hot buss, there is a fuse in the back by the master relay. Quote

N231BN Posted December 12, 2021 Report Posted December 12, 2021 Usually labeled CLOCK, I think Of course, it it's a blown fuse, the question is, what caused it to blow?Good question, if the OP has the factory electric clock what usually happens is the terminal loosens up on the inside which allows it to contact the case. I've seen it on Cessna's and Mooney's which use the same clock in those years. Quote
Mad Mikey Posted December 12, 2021 Author Report Posted December 12, 2021 Yea. That’s the 1,000,000 question. If that is it…. Then what caused it. Quote
carusoam Posted December 13, 2021 Report Posted December 13, 2021 1MM ft of wire…. One worn spot… One chance connection to ground…. Nicely hidden behind a panel somewhere…. Start with a new fuse…. Keep the voltmeter/continuity meter handy…. PP thoughts only, not a mechanic… -a- Quote
Mad Mikey Posted December 13, 2021 Author Report Posted December 13, 2021 Hahah exactly. Thanks Carusoam. 1 Quote
