aviatoreb Posted October 29, 2021 Report Posted October 29, 2021 Here is some kind of transition tube between the turbo body and the air filter. So it is going from round to square. It seems like it is made of some kind of fiberglass? What is it called? I think it may have a crack in it, as indicated by visual inspection but no other indications. If you wiggle it then it seems likely there is a crack because there is some play that I don't think should be there. Quote
KSMooniac Posted October 29, 2021 Report Posted October 29, 2021 I bet you're correct. Can you take it out and give it a good cleaning, then inspect? Likely an easy FG repair if there is a crack. Lots of vibration at the front of the engine/cowl interface will do this over time. Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
aviatoreb Posted October 29, 2021 Author Report Posted October 29, 2021 Thanks! Ok - turns out there is not a crack. There is an ever so slight looseness where it is joined to the metal parts and also there are black streaks where there is oily goop but its not actually cracked (now having been removed for inspection). Turns out that looseness is engineered that way I think as when its all hot it tightens up. Like an SR71. 2 Quote
