RLCarter Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) In the process of doing my annual, the right master cylinder shows signs of leaking (sticky 5606 on the shaft and body) so I'm wanting to rebuild both master cylinders and both calipers. Also the 4 bolts that hold the calipers together look like they have been R&R'ed several times with crap tools (screwed up heads). The O-Ring part #'s I have do not show up and I assume they have superseded to the new "MS" numbers, the 4 bolts seem to short overall. Can someone point me to a conversion chart? Also could you check your parts manual on the bolt size? 1965 M20 E ser# 578 AN6227-3 O-ring AN6227-5 O-ring AN6227-9 O-ring AN6227-10 O-ring AN6227-29 O-ring AN4-6A Bolt Edited September 8, 2021 by RLCarter Quote

JoeM Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Plane parts has the master cyl overhaul kits. Bill Goetschel overhauls the master cylinder and can replace the seal for about $200. 507-581-9761 2 Quote

Guest Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 From the Cleveland manual. The O rings as noted are now MS28775 series. Clarence Quote
RLCarter Posted September 8, 2021 Author Report Posted September 8, 2021 Thanks guys , I’ll educate my self on the new #’s, odd that my parts manual shows a -4 bolt and they are a -5 as shown by The illustration @M20Doc posted Quote
Guest Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Bolt head size should be give away as to bolt shank size. I’m sure that they are AN 5 Clarence Quote
RLCarter Posted September 9, 2021 Author Report Posted September 9, 2021 @M20Doc you are correct went out to the hangar and removed one of the bolts, and it is an AN5-H14A. Placed 4 new bolts in my Spruce shopping cart, a whooping $4.36, which is probably more than wrench cost that someone used prior to me 1 Quote
