Considering a GI-275 install, which would mean that I no longer need a vacuum system perhaps?  My 1965 M20C has the Brittian wing leveler (not the autopilot).  Is it "legal" to delete the pump and the associated hardware?  I have the vacuum powered step retract, I assume that it could be bolted in the down position somehow.  Remove the wing aileron vacuum servos?  The TC and the other stuff in the tail cone? Minor mod?

Dump the pump!

There is a way to do this legally...

It always depends on what is being removed, what instruments and devices that are depending on the vac system....

If something is documented as required for flight.... things can get more challenging...

Besides instruments...

There are vac powered systems like the retractable step... and speed brakes...

Each instrument needs a back-up... these are often defined and updated by the company that builds the instrument you are installing...

New instruments like the GI275 have their documents updated constantly as big G completes testing and adds things to the list of back-ups....

PP thoughts only, not an instrument guru...
