gsxrpilot Posted May 7, 2021 Report Posted May 7, 2021 Two things I really like about the PJ2. No Nav radio. That's just wasted functionality while cluttering up the unit. Built in headset jacks so no need for extra adaptors, dongles, etc. Quote
RLCarter Posted May 7, 2021 Report Posted May 7, 2021 Old radios can be good for making a Base Station, I have 2 170B’s eventually one will be a Base Station and the other will get mounted in the golf cart. Either could be an option for you, but neither will work in your plane Quote
Hector Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 I have a PJ2 and a Vertex 220. Both are nice but the PJ2 is what is in my flight bag. I’ll sell the 220 if anyone is interested. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Quote
McMooney Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 I have this : Yaesu FTA 750L NAV/COM Aviation Radio (sportys.com) works great, use it in the hangar and to pick up clearances mostly. It also has noaa weather channels which is cool oh yeah, it's really LOUD, you can hear it in the plane over the engine. nav features actually work Quote

It does not have the ability for 8.33 spacing. I wonder when or if that will be a thing here in the USA. It is a royal pain in the ass overseas. Trying to remember that freq for a read back is a killer....and I have seen it dorked up in the cockpit at least once on every flight. Quote
