Does anyone know of a good A&P Mechanic with Mooney experience in the Connecticut area? I need a Pre-purchase inspection on a J model.

Update:  Thanks to all.  I have the PPI scheduled!

Either get the airplane to Trenton/Robbinsville airport, or arrange for Dave to come to you.  Excellent Mooney mechanic.  He replaced my windscreen (which is, as many know, one of the most cumbersome and least-desired tasks for a mechanic and owner alike), and is doing major structural work on another Ovation for a member on here.  You might find people closer to you, but likely not as experienced.

Reliant Air at Danbury - KDXR. http://reliantair.com

Has maintained my Ovation for 7 years, a J-model for even longer, a C as well. One of the guys in the shop (Brian) came from the old MSC here on the field (and Tony may as well, not quite sure about that though).

Call Steve Disorbo (Head of Maintenance) and tell him I sent you (no, I don't get a referral discount :) )  steve@reliantair.com, 203-743-5100

Thank You for the referral.  This will be my first airplane and I want to make sure it gets a thorough PPI.

I've also had my K maintained for years at Air Mods & Repair.  But my pre-purchase was done at Reliant since the plane was at DXR.

Don't know what ever happened to Scott Spetzer (sp?) at A1 which also used to be at DXR, he had a good rep for Mooney work.
