tls pilot
Has anyone dealt with the bolt and nut on this main gear- middle gear door? Issue: the bolt turns but nut turns with it, even when using a long extension w socket( thru the tubular axel) to get on the nut. Anyone have experience with this, is the nut attached to a nut plate? Perhaps a previous mechanic rounded out the hex heads on the nut??? Cannot get the nut out to replace it... Any ideas or a fix, Please?? thanks see attched. The bolt is #22 with washes on either side that attaches to the hex nut (near) 25-the spindle. Edited March 21, 2021 by tls pilot
PilotX
I was having trouble removing some bolts today and drilled them out. They were in the tail avionics tray with clearance between the tray and skin, still nerve wracking.
carusoam
Sounds like getting the right socket on it is going to be important.... See if @M20Doc is around.... (nut at the center of the MLG axle, for gear door) Best regards, -a-
