Crossing through Mexican Airspace

I'm planning a trip with my wife to Belize. We live in Canada. Is it possible to cross Mexican airspace without clearing customs, or do you have to land and clear. I don't want to get shot down eh?  We've never flown through any borders but I think I have the USA figured out with EAPIS etc.  We have a super nice 1967 M20F and just fly VFR although it has King GPS and VOR.


Any helpful comments would be appreciated.
