Papachristou Posted July 14, 2020 Report Posted July 14, 2020 My wife is a a CFII/MEI and I’m trying to talk her into a Mooney instead of a 172. (No comparison i know) but everywhere she has worked they hate on Mooneys. She’s short so i know she’d need pedal extensions but we’ll be in Tampa next week visiting family (July 20-24) and was hoping she could check one out and or go up. Feel free to call or text. Chris-901.351.9271. Thanks! Quote
carusoam Posted July 14, 2020 Report Posted July 14, 2020 Welcome aboard Papa! Guess it depends on what the plane is for... If you both like traveling with speed and efficiency... Go Mooney! If Mrs. P. Wants something to train primary students with, a trainer may be a touch better... Pp thoughts only, searching for what the plane is for... Best regards, -a- Quote
Papachristou Posted July 14, 2020 Author Report Posted July 14, 2020 No, this is just for us and the two boys. She has family in Chicago/Wisconsin and all my family is in Tampa but we live in Memphis! my dad had a Mooney when i was a kid and we would fly Memphis to Tampa all the time. Quote
carusoam Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 Go Mooney! The right bird for long cross-countries.... Speed and efficiency! You won’t be disappointed. Best regards, -a- Quote
Mr. Scott Posted January 5, 2021 Report Posted January 5, 2021 Wish Mooney were still producing the j, there is much more value in them than what they were producing before the shutdown late in 2019. Quote
carusoam Posted January 6, 2021 Report Posted January 6, 2021 Welcome aboard, Mr. Scot! How do you define more value in an M20J compared to the the Long Bodies of 2019? Is this your preference, or is there an actual value measurement..? For a few years the mid bodies and long bodies were produced at the same time...in the same place. The cost of building the planes is nearly the same... accounting for the extra aluminum used... If you want... we can ask the factory if they want to restart the production of the mid bodies again... I think the real problem is finding people with the extra 100s of AMUs required to buy a new plane... that want speed and efficiency... PP thoughts only, not a sales guy... Best regards, -a- Quote
