Experienced Mooney A&P in Boston / New England?

Hello everyone --

I'm new to the forum and new to Mooneys as well -- did my primary training in a Cirrus (don't hold that against me) and am nearing completion of my instrument rating now.

I'm beginning to look seriously at purchasing an aircraft, and it seems like it's hard to beat an early M20J 201 from a cost/performance perspective.  Does anyone have a recommendation for an A&P who is very knowledgeable and experienced with Mooneys (in particular early 201s) in the greater Boston area?  Looking for someone to have 'on my side' for an independent pre-buy inspection.

Thanks very much!

Welcome to Mooneys!!

Good people on this forum will give you good leads.  Mine is a small one.  Here is the list of Mooney Service Centers that are listed on the Mooney website.  If you find one close enough to you to help, great.  If not, then it would be good to rely on someone on this list more local to you.

Where are you located in Massachusetts?  I am just west of Boston and have asked many questions regarding Mooney resources here and regionally since I am just finishing the complete rebuilding of an M20F, which is now is really more like a late model J, with modern avionics but with a Johnson Bar.  Drop me a line on my e-mail at johnabreda@yahoo.com and we can chat.

I'll be interested in any responses. I live in western MA and keep my '67 M20F at Northampton (7B2). I bought my plane last December, and haven't yet had a need to go to an official Mooney A&P yet, but should be doing so soon since I want to have the plane rigged. The closest place I've heard of is AirMods at the Robbinsville, NJ airport. I went down there before I bought my Mooney and the friendly people there took me for a test flight in an M20C they had just so I could get a sense of whether I really wanted a Mooney. They were very helpful, and I have been planning to go there for the rigging, but would be interested in hearing if there are any closer resources.
