ragedracer1977 Posted January 21, 2018 Report Posted January 21, 2018 My kids ate chips in the back seat and made a mess. No more food in the plane lol. I pulled both seats, the back seat, lifted up the carpet and vacuumed up probably 2lbs of dust and grit and junk. I completely filled a little hand vac up with stuff. It was pretty gross actually. Behind the side panel below the door was, no joke, close to a roll of dried up crusty duct tape. It was just weird. It wasn’t taped to anything, just in there. I also ended up swapping seats left to right, mostly because the pilot side was starting to get a little worn on the seatback corner from putting hands on it getting in and out. Cleaned and lubricated the rollers and rails. There was a lot of grit and grime in the rails. First time I slid it back afterwards I almost went through the back of the plane It was an afternoon well spent. 4 Quote

ragedracer1977 Posted January 22, 2018 Author Report Posted January 22, 2018 I have 4 point harnesses. Quote
ragedracer1977 Posted January 22, 2018 Author Report Posted January 22, 2018 The shoulder straps are mounted to the bottom of the seat, come up over the top of the seat, then the lap belt threads through and buckles. Quote
Yetti Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 Instead of yoga class one day spend the time replacing all the duct tape with alum foil tape. old duct tape can hold moisture Quote
carusoam Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 If not too late... Consider washing down the aluminum spars that make up the back seat and that area.... They have a tendency to get sanded clean of their rust protection by the feet that go in that area... They also receive spilled soda and stuff like that. That has opportunity to turn into a very expensive spar challenge. The material that the spars are made of has a tendency to not resist oxidation. And when it starts, it moves quite quickly.... If there is bare metal, get it coated... PP thoughts with experience from my ‘65C... Best regards, -a- Quote

I scrubbed it all out with water and rags. I cleaned everything I could get to. It’s sure a lot easier with the seats out Edited January 22, 2018 by ragedracer1977 1 Quote
