A few years ago, I told my wife about www.fly2lunch.com and told her to pick out a place for Valentines dinner. I ended up taking her to the Chophouse at Arnold Palmer Airport. The waitress even understood that I couldn't have a drink because we had to fly home afterwards. Great food, the snow had been plowed and was taller than I could reach around the edge of the apron. Then there was the larger than life bronze statue of Annie out front.

West bound over the North Atlantic one morning an eastbound Citation "alpha papa" came on the freq with a familiar voice. Poor guy was chatted up by everyone    else on the freq trying to think of something to say to him. Very gracious man.

Annie was a tremendous ambassador for GA, Golf, the United States and Life.  He lead a long full life.  I was a fan Arnie.  You will be missed...

I watched the Golf Channel for several hours last night and all this morning. What wonderful stories! There was only one Arnold Palmer.

(My brother and I grew up on golf courses as caddies and golfers. My brother spent several years as a club pro in PA and the game has been part of my life for almost 65 years.)
