Sorry.

20k plus 9k in upgrades including tank reseal, new interior with leather, new one piece windshield, compass, gyro, vacuum pump, finewires, nav comm two, tires, hoses, brake linings, other crap.

This thing is a super solid, efficient, moderately fast IFR capable cross country fun machine.

Best purchase in a long time. And yes I kind of just jumped into it without a prebuy in a hunch that it was a diamond in the rough. It's been great and I get compliments all the time.

Airplanes run on AvGas and owners run on compliments.

Nice work!! Your experiences are not the norm in vintage aviation. You picked a good one it sounds like!!

I'm fairly deep in mine again this annual. I guess I'm picky, but these 50yo airplanes are work!! I don't think I could afford it with out my IA certificate that's for sure!! I'm recovering my front seats, so that's taking some time so all the other stuff I'm doing to the airplane has accumulated to "while I'm there...let's fix that"

4 years in and I'm still making it better!!

Glad you are enjoying your airplane!!

I sure am!

But do I have to put the silly lower cowl back on again? Lol.

the only fault is i need more pictures !!!

did you repaint after you reseal job ?

carl

I didn't repaint after reseal.  No paint damage really.

I have had my share of disappointments but they were not huge.  Starter switch died, vacuum pump died, VOR two died, compass leaked, needed reseal badly, com2 knobs didn't work right, prop cable seized up once and needed to be muscled back, flaps don't like four full pumps and get suck down so I use three.  Oh and I ruined my own windshield and had to buy a replacement one piece.  My engine cluster still needs work.
