Gents-

I am in the process of moving from North Las Vegas (VGT) to Ann Arbor, MI (ARB). I have secured a hangar and was mostly wondering if we had anyone from the forum based there or nearby. I grew up nearby so I'm familiar with the area but always looking for other Mooney folk. I have a friend who instructs at several airports in the area and he suggested Solo Aviation for maintenance on the field. There is also an MSC to the north in Lapeer that I may use for my annual. Anyone have experience with either?

Looking forward to doing a lot of flying around Michigan, especially up north. $100 hamburger suggestions welcome.

Thanks!

I'm just north of you by about 25 miles or so. A friend has a $100 hamburger document I can try to email you.

I do my own annuals so I can't really help with that, but I have never anything bad about Lapeer.

Welcome to A2! I have the blue & white Mooney N435DB tied down in front of the terminal building.

It's more than a $100 hamburger, but has anyone mentioned Mackinac island?

Who have you used for maintenance so far?

I visit South Lyon near Ann Arbor and park at Y47 several times per year. Check with the Mooney broker in Brighton for maintenance recommendations. I flew to Traverse City, Charlevoix, and Mackinaw Island this year.....all good summer stops. Ray

Welcome back to the Great Lakes State.  I fly regularly into KARB for medical flights out of the U.P. (KIMT).  Solo has always treated us great.  They give our mercy flight organization (Northwood's Airlifeline) a fuel price break.  Maybe we can do lunch sometime when I get a flight down there.  Sorry to say, most my flights in there are with the organizational owned Turbo Bonanza.  I can still talk Mooney though.

I've always wondered who's Mooney that was.  Lunch option noted above goes to you as well.
