carqwik Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 I've been using the 48110-1 Champion or equivalent size Tempest oil filter in my plane since forever. I found a possible new source (at better prices) for my oil change supplies - and was asked to check on the correct filter. So I checked the Champion reference guide on Aircraft Spruce and lo and behold it says that the correct filter is the 48103-1 for the M20M TLS: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pdf/champion-oilsprk-app-2014.pdf Now it can't be the 48103-1 because that's a "female" filter... Then I checked the Sporty's reference guide for Champion Filters and it says the 48110-1 filter: http://www.sportys.com/media/pdf/oilfilter.pdf I think the Sporty's version is the older (and correct) PDF reference guide for filters... Anyone know someone at Champion to let them know they've got an error in their latest reference guide?? Quote
carusoam Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 Same Champion as the spark plugs with the known increasing resistance? Good luck with contacting that customer service group... Best regards, -a- Quote
LANCECASPER Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 I had a couple Bravos over the years - it's the 48110. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 Just to back that up for the Lycoming TIO-540-AF1B engine, this says either the 48110 or the 48111: http://vargaair.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/oil_filter_app_chart.pdf Quote
