furledd Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 I have a long body M20F Executive 1967 model and it has a fairly well worn seat rail set on the pilot side that the seat does not latch very well. It forces me to put the seat either a little too far or too close to be sure it will remain latched securely. Questions 1. Anyone have any compatible seat rails they might sell? 2. How difficult is it to remove and install the rails? Can it easily be done at annual with the belly plates off? Thanks Dwight
carusoam Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 Dwight, Do you have any pictures of your situation? Would swapping pilot side for co-pilot side help alleviate the situation? How are the plastic wheels on the seat? Expect annual to be a good time for any work that requires access below the floorboards... Not a very common issue, so used ones may be easy to find? And.....Your F has been shortened to a Mid Body Mooney by the PFM guys....
N601RX Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 Will cleaning the dirt and other gunk out of the holes help? The rails are riveted in with a row of rivets down each side of the rail.
fantom Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 New seat rollers, plus cleaning up the seat pins and rails may do the trick. Changing out the rails is a very BIG, as in costly, job. Our Cezzzna owner friends will attest to this. 1
