midlifeflyer Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I've managed to fly at least one variant most 4-place tricycle gear unpressurized single engine pistons. I'd really like a chance to fly one of the super-fast turbine ones like the TBM. Quote
fantom Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 TBM handles much like a Mooney, except much quicker to altitude, and almost as fast as Bob's E Goodyear blimp ride was lots of fun, very quiet, and a bit slower than Bob's E ;) Quote
MB65E Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Haha! Ya the blimp was the oddest thing I've flown. 1.5 in the left seat. Actually very enjoyable! The DH-2 Beaver is near the top of my list. Really like to end up with an fabric wing 8a Luscombe one day. These 2 just fly really nice! However, not to many airplanes can do 155kts on 9.0 an hour. Let alone with 4 seats like the M20e. -Matt 1 Quote
DaV8or Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Anyone fly a hot air ballon? I really want to do this. I have ridden as a passenger, but not as PIC, or in any way manipulating the controls. It's fun and you should go for it, but you have to pick a good day. You need wind, but not too much wind. The day I went, there was almost zero wind, so we really couldn't go to far. I did it in Sedona. 1 Quote
DaV8or Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I have flown all Mooneys, stock and heavily modified, including the Rocket & Missile conversions, except for the Mustang, and the M20A/B/D. Even the M-18 and M-10? Quote
philiplane Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 M-10 yes, M-18, no. Forgot about that one. No desire to fly anything that relies upon strings, wires, or fire to maintain flight. Quote
adamsboomer Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 New pilot, only flown C152, M20C, and KC135. I would really like to try/purchase a powered parachute for fun cheap local thrills. Quote
ryoder Posted October 4, 2014 Author Report Posted October 4, 2014 Adamsboomer go,fly a 172. It's like driving a Mustang, everyone has done it. I haven't flown a 152 though, I'd like to and hope I fit in it. I talked to the balloon guys the other day and the guy that answered was the dpe for central Florida. He had some frat stories and I am pretty sure I'm going to go for a balloon private pilot added category some day. I get excited just thinking about it. Quote
