Water leaks into the panels forward of the windshield. Pull them off and seal them very well, including screws.

Pilots of older Mooneys always swear by those panels to work on their radios, but I think in many cases the panels leak, and are the cause of so much needed work on radios.

Me too... I love my access panels! Just like anything else, if you perform the maintenance correctly and seal them right, all is good.

Rejex..Kinda of pricey, but was turned on to it from some fellow Corvette guys. Stuff is great and last long. I wax about three times a year. Try to wash once a month and generally do a wipe down of bugs after each flight..The airport offers a wash/wax service, but I prefer to do it myself. Don't want them pushing, pulling and spraying the wrong spots...

Yeap, I'm a anal OCD kind of guy when it comes to my plane..

I've never used Rejex, but I believe it's similar to Zaino.   You'll notice water beading on the plane much longer than with regular wax.

I've gone through the whole Zaino procedure and used their products long enough to have put the Zaino boys through college. Fine, but over-hyped, product.

I now use Meguire's NXT on the plane and car, and I can't tell the difference. It has just a bit of cleaner in it, whereas Zaino doesn't, it's sealer only. NXT goes on easy, comes off easy and doesn't stain the plastic trim. Same with RejeX.

I wash the Bo with wet microfiber cloths and let dry. Not a big fan of blasting her with water.

For waxing, I really like the spray wax. Goes on easy, wipe around and it dries real sharp! Much easier than wax compound carnauba and polish/buffing. I spray wax a 1 or 2 foot square section at a time. Looks great and goes pretty fast.

I wash with a hose only after my yearly trip to the keys for lobster mini season (I then lube everything again). After that, spray bottle and microfiber cloth every month. Twice a year (after annual and six months later) I use Meguiars product for a deep polishing and waxing. For a quick wax in between I use Lucas Quick Mist (spray on and wipe off).

I think that was a big deal to the corvette guys.  They liked zaino b/c it didn't have any polish in it.  Since my plane is hangared, I just use a cheap liquid wax to help keep the bugs from sticking.
