  1. Bent oil line after avionics work sent oil over my feet in the Cessna 340 I used to own. Replaced oil and fuel lines with remote sensors.
  2. www.iflygps.com VFR $70/yr IFR 110/yr
  3. I downloaded Avare to my 2013 Nexus 7 and after downloading charts it locked up bigtime. Finally had to uninstall it and I am happy with the IFLY APP for Android. Has never had a problem and the VFR charts are very easy to read with good resolution. Cheap and one that Android users can try for 30 days etc...
  4. Jose, Thanks for the tip I will have my avionics shop check my 430W as you suggest. Bob
  5. May be unrelated but...I have had Garmin 430 and 530 in two different planes, both with a King KR-155/165 NavCom. When flying over areas with poor coverage the 155 /165 always is more sensitive both transmitting and receiving. This repeated in over 50 trips or more. In my opinion Garmin radios are for close to the airport use only.
  6. Don, If you need it I have a friend at 88R with plenty of hanger space. Need your contact info. Bob Yarbrough
  7. Don, Just saw your post. Don't know what the cause was...maybe too much Bill's BBQ. Just kidding... glad you are ok and could handle the emergency. I live in Austin near Lakeway (30 min drive to Spicewood) and if you need help let me know. Spicewood has lots of active pilots and I am sure you will get good mechanical help there. I have some contacts there so give me a call. Bob Yarbrough
  8. Had first hand experience with scattering ashes. Back in the mid to late 80's Al Mooney died and was cremated. He wanted his ashes scattered over KERV and Mooney. I have/had a place at Tierra Linda Ranch (60TE) with Roy LoPresti across the runway as a neighbor. So...Roy had just joined Beech but not sold his house yet and had no access to a Mooney but I volunteered N211ZN (85 M20J) to scatter Al's ashes. I got Roy to be pilot and when over Mooney he opened the pilots window and dumped Al's ashes...well most of them...the rest blew back into the plane so part of Al Mooney is my copilot. Bob
  9. What is the "FOB" feature ?
  10. MY Mooney is in the shop for avionics work and install of the CYA-100. Not installed yet but the experienced guys at the shop were amazed at how simple the unit will be to install...no running pneumatic lines and no third box to locate. Will give a pirep when all is done.

Jason, I want to build one...got a bill of materials ? Bob
  12. Had the JPI 150 installed a few years ago in a 182 and was surprised that it took almost 8 hours to install by a very good A&P. So...it is worth it but your quote is not too far off.
  13. Back in the 90's with my 1985 201 I replaced the factory sensor with an E.I. 2.25 inch gauge with both oil pressure and temp with RED WARNING lights...cost about $800 vs $1600 for the factory sensor at that time. Still working fine. Great solution. Bob
  14. I will take both door and baggage.
  15. You need to give more info in your profile so we can make suggestions. However in Texas, Travis County (austin area) the rule is about 3% tax yearly if the plane is registered to an individual(and can be sued personally). Not so if registered to a corporation.
  16. I also am like Don Muncy waiting to get weather and avionics folks lined up...still need to get my new JPI 830 calibrated first.
  17. Anyone...Is it possible to enlarge the avitars? Yes or No If so how ?
  18. Have a Mac but have same when using ipad or w7 computer. there must be a way to enlarge those tiny photos. Bob
  19. Robert, I don't recall any warranty discussion but Rocket is a first class outfit and will be worth dealing with. I expect the replacement to last about 17 more years...longer than I will be flying...
  20. Robert the entire exhaust system on my 1995 Missile conversion was replaced in 2012. . Bought from Rocket cost about 5K. Work done by DuGosh Aircraft in Kerrville. Not excessive after 17 years of use. You may not need complete replacement if you have a capable shop that can repair yours.
  21. Last week I bought one at Office Depot in Westlake ... They had a dozen in stock. About $5. Class of 57 Bob based at Lakeway 3R9
  22. Rip, I emailed a new shipping address. Bob Yarbrough
  23. Just entered my order for CYA-100.
  24. Just got a 520 for my LSA and find it much easier to use than the "glass panel". I also would like to get a pilot report on traffic and weather when SkyGuard is working.
  25. Question for Rip or ? From the videos I clearly see the probe and how it is mounted. Understand that just running a wire back to the display is easier than tubing. However what does the display look like ? I saw a few LEDs peaking out of the Navion panel...does this mean you have to cut a rectangular hole in the panel to mount it. Obviously 355 is a steal...at that price.
