  1. Ditto on using Great Lakes Areo. I replaced all the glass in my K Model with .250" UV Grey. I knew that they OEM for Mooney but, what sold me was my AP telling me about the fit. He was right, we did very little fitting of the windscreen and nearly none on the side glass. Very happy the way it came out.
  2. No problem. Thank you for clearing it up.
  3. Ditto on Falcon. I have been with them since purchasing my 231 in 2008. Very easy to work with. They have shopped my thru all the carriers every year. I have had only minor increases. Overall cost has maybe varied $50.00 over all that time.
  4. Sorry, although they will fit your E model I am only interested in selling as a pair.
  5. I have absolutely no idea what you are referring to. I haven't sold any parts in the past on the website or eBay. I have sold some avionics on eBay and always got positive feedback.
  6. Price lowered to $700 plus shipping for the pair. I will build shipping container at no charge to buyer.
  7. When my King fan died my AP installed a Sandia muffin fan. Brushless motor so it should last almost forever. All you hear is the sound of the air exiting the hoses. No motor noise at all. You can also take your footwell eyeballs and point them upward so the outside air discharges behind the panel.
  8. My Precise Flight Alt Static valve also leaked. My IA took it apart and replaced all the O-Rings. That was 6 years ago and I haven't had a problem since.
  9. I also have 2 available from M20 K. Very minor hail damage. Matterhorn white in very good condition. No corrosion. $700 plus shipping for the pair. I'll build the shipping crate at no cost.
  10. Your A/P should be able to replace it with no issue.
  11. On the K model Mooney issued a SB # M20-235. It was a mod to improve cooling by taking in additional air from around the landing light. Included in the parts, along with some heat shields for the exhaust, is the replacement lens that has holes drilled on the top and "bumps" on the bottom. I saw a slight drop in temps after mine was installed. I have a lot of experience with working with the folks at Great Lakes Aero. Always willing to work with you and high quality replacement parts. I would recommend them if you need glass or lenses.
  12. Mine are hard to close in flight too, but not what I'd call very difficult. It just takes firm pressure. If you put any side pressure on the knob, it will become extremely difficult, almost impossible to close the cowl flaps. I have never even thought to using 2 hands as mentioned. I do know one individual who bent the shaft by not pushing the knob straight. We have adjusted my cowl flaps to be open about 1.5", when measured at the rear. This provides a fair amount of airflow over the cylinders thereby reducing temps.
  13. Price reduced to $900 or best offer. A used one recently sold on eBay for $750.
  14. The torque limit switch is different. 6 inch-pounds in the -02 and 11 inch pounds in the -04.
  15. I'm looking for either a 065-0027-04 or a 065-0059-04 pitch servo. Need to be 14 volt or 14/28 volt. If you have a known good or yellow tagged spare that you want to sell please let me know.
  16. I was recently at my avionics shop talking to them about upgrading the stack in my 231 and getting ADS-B compliant at the same time. Currently I have a 530W that I was thinking of changing out to a GTN-750. What shocked me when I received the quote is they are adding in a remote annunciator because they claim that the 530W is not close enough to the HSI to satisfy the STC so that needs to be addressed if I install a 750. Now, I'm not an avionics guy but, I have looked at a bunch of GA aircraft over the years and I can count on 1 hand how many had the remote annunciator. It is usually because the 430/530 is not mounted in the typical positions in a center stack. What are your experiences? I really would value input from those that have installed a GTN 650 or 750. THANKS!
  17. I have a brand new, never used Clarity SV ADS-B Receiver with Sun Shield. It has an internal WAAS GPS Receiver and also 978 and 1090 MHz Receivers so you receive FIS Weather and TIS Traffic. The Clarity SV is the only receiver with a internal phased array antenna so it will receive signals from more ADS-B Towers than all of the competitors. It also has Gyros so you can display Synthetic Vision AHRS on iPad apps like WingX and FlyQ. I know it will display position, traffic and weather when using FlightPlan.com. It may work with other apps that I am not familiar with. It is not compatible with Garmin or Foreflight. Check out these links: https://www.seattleavionics.com/CLARITYSV-ADSB.aspx I paid $1500 for it but now they are selling for $1200-$1400. I'm asking $1000 but willing to entertain any reasonable offer.
  18. I have a pair of Ailerons that I'd like to sell. Part numbers 230015-505 and 20015-506. These fit K models up to S/N 25-1133. I believe that they will also fit most J Models and possibly others. They are in very good condition and balanced. No damage to the edges. Very minor hail damage which doesn't even show in pictures. Paint is Matterhorn White and it is in excellent condition. $900 plus shipping for both I'd prefer to sell as a pair. I'm willing to build a shipping crate if necessary. Due to the size they would have to be shipped via truck.
  19. I'm looking for a B & D Instruments 0227-005 TIT/CDT Gauge. Typically in the 231/252. Mine has become intermittent and I'd like to replace it if possible. Thanks!
  20. Would you take $250. One sold on eBay a few months back for $139.

  21. The interior plastic on my plane was not in the best shape when I bought it. I knew that I would have to do something in the near future. If I remember correctly, I was quoted right around $9,000 for new plastic from the factory. Plane Plastics was right around $3,000. Yes, I had to do quite a bit of trimming but the results were really good and 1/3 the cost. I had a couple of panels that I couldn't make fit well. Plane Plastics had me send them my original pieces and made exact copies for me. I kept the original replacement panels in the plane until the new ones were delivered. No additional cost. Plane Plastics did right by me. I have worked with Aero Comfort as well. They do quality work. If you elect to have your panels covered I'm sure you will be satisfied. No idea what they would charge. Airtex will also cover your panels but, I think they only use textile products. You would have to call them for details.
  22. Ditto on the Max Dim. The factory rheostat had an internal problem and kept blowing the post light breaker. Easy install and a lot less expensive than the factory part. That was 6 years ago and haven't had any issues since. As stated, it is STC'ed so there are no issues with using Max Dim as a replacement.
  23. Everyone that I have talked to recommend that CHTs below 400 is the best way to improve cylinder life. Are you using an engine monitor? When you lean out, which cylinder is running the leanest and the richest? That will help clue you in as well. If #2 leans first and you have a significant reduction in fuel flow before the last cylinder leans then #2 may be running at peak EGT ... thereby giving you high CHT. Are you running GAMI's? I run LOP in my 231 with a -LB engine. GAMI did such a good job of balancing my injectors all the cylinders lean out within 1/4 turn of the mixture control knob. Highest CHT is usually 350-355 for cylinder #4. The rest run around 15-20 degrees cooler. #6 is the coolest. TIT is 1525-1550. 65% power @ 9.9 GPH gives me 165 knots. I imagine that #2 on a -MB is right next to the oil cooler as in the -LB. You may want to check the cooler and the baffles between #4 and #2 to make sure everything is OK after you find out if #2 is running the leanest.
  24. Typically 3 days barring any surprises. Even on year when we decided to to a Top Overhaul I was only down for a week. I typically set a "soft" date with my AP 6 months in advance, to see if he has any other commitments. Then about 60 days prior we agree on a firm date.
