  1. I love my "c", and it would be a mini-rocket, with the io-390, despite of the negligible weight increase of the engine, however not a upgrade option. Here is a how be available to, http://gnaircraft.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/pdfs/2011-mooney-stc.pdf
  2. Macfarlene, makes a good product, but the replacement into the old sleeve is a pita, is not a two hour job, doable with lots of patience.
  3. Espectacular Bird eye view of the scenery, thank you for sharing it.
  4. Mixture 3/4 of the way in and no carb heat, prop slowly forward. And I use camguard
  5. Thanks for the replies guys, nothing better than hearing it from the guys that fly this mooneys.
  6. What kind of true airspeed would you see at those settings skywarrior. As well what sort of climb profile do you use, any experience with icing in flight. I'm also looking at bravos thank's.
  7. Good day Robert, I first like to thank you for having the Courage to Share with us your experience, do not ever hesitate to turn around if your not confortable with the conditions at all, your doing this for pleasure. I been flying commercially now for 18 years my learning curve was steep and I did have a lot of luck in my side as I started flying floats in uncharted land of the Canadian north, I accumulated several thousand of hours yet I still learn something new everyday in aviation.I Own a m20c which is day and night from what I now fly for a living, however when ever I get on my mooneyjet I fly it for what it is and yet a few times I had to turn around due to weather mostly icing in my neck of the woods, I would suggest that you get your ifr and some exposure to real ifr and approaches to build your confidence and your own personal weather minimums, which only come with experience, if you can find yourself another pilot that is willing to go with you on xcountry trips and get a feel for weather, with a second set of eyes. Enjoy your mooney!
  8. Well they do sound a bit high, on my 62 c I will climb at 120mph and never seen higher than 380cht after take off, I do have the cowl flaps full open. I have installed a ubg16 and fuel flow.
  9. Condolence to you friends and family.
  10. Oscar, I got a m20c as well, curious about what kind of fuel burn and true airspeed are you getting at those altitudes.
  11. Flight aware works the same as in the USA, however if you ask for Vfr flight following it won't show up like in the USA.
  12. I second the standing ovation, would love to hear some real life performance, enjoy!
  13. I have not had that happen to me yeat! However always ensure to Aviate Navigate Communicate

  17. Hello guys I'm looking into installing a ubg16, any pireps with installation, I got a tannis kit installed already would I need the standar probes for the cht. Or the gasket type. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the positive replies, I'm new to carb operations and I was not aware that with higher engine power it would have such effect of running that rough however it makes a lot of since. I do not intend to operate with the carb heat on .
  19. Beautiful evening tonight so I took the mooneyjet for a flight, on top of the climb I selected the carb heat full on and the engine started to run rough, my first instinct was to shut the carb heat off I level the mooney and did a cause check, I tried mags, and it all check out. I then turn the carb heat back on and once againg the engine started to run. Very rough to the point that I was starting to look for a field to land, I reduced the power and tried the. Carb heat and voila it run smooth like it always has when carb heat is applied, I applied power to 25 square. And again the engine would run rough with the carb heat on. Has anyone experience anything similar to my snag. The irony is that one of my last post was about converting a carb to fuel injection go figure looks like the old girl is barking back.
  20. Thank for the replies guys, As for upgrading it would be nice, would anyone. BE in the market for a gently use m20c.
  21. Sign me up as well I would love to have an engine cowl that would be more pilot friendly, and would love to gain a least 20 mph from the new design cowl
  22. Hello guys anyone could point me toward where I could find the stc for converting a carbureted 0-360 to fuel injected, any pireps out there. Thanks in advance
  23. A fellow mooney pilot change his 2 blade for a 3 blade and did agree that his climb performance improved but his overall cruise speed decrease significantly such that he whent. Back to the 2 bladed prop. I think I'm going to stay with the 2 blade myself.
  24. In my short flying hours with m20C I keep the cowl doors close and I find my cht to stay cool about 300 running 75 rop but then I'm up in Canada where still fairly cool temperatures.
  25. At diesel conversion might be feasible if a guy was starting from scratch. Very true with regards of non experimental aircraft it seems like they gouche you for every certified part
