  1. Hey guys does anyone know about a turbine conversion on the old mooneys that in my books would make it the ultimate hot rod, how about a diesel conversion just getting ideas .

  4. that's great info, i'm on the prairies, so having to be above 10 thousand is not a need. with the price of avgas in canada 2 bucks a liter i figure, that perhaps climbing, would save me some fuel.
  5. For those of you who fly non-turbo, my plane been a "c" model; any significant performance if you climb above 10" thousand on cross country trips, any advantage with fuel burns, as well what do you guys plan for fuel burns on the "c" model.do you ever lean back when climbing, thanks
  6. Hello guys, it looks like my airspeed indicator has develop a leak when it was bench tested in the annual , know any suggestion as to whether is worth getting it overhaul or just getting a new one , like I said Before is my first airplane as an owner . Thank for the replys
  7. Thank for the replys guys, im going to stick with the phillips, as for oil samples sent to the lab, they show good so far. So how about additives for the cam, if you are changing the oil so regulaly would it make much of a difference.
  8. Hello folks i purchase a mooney and the previous owner has been using phillips and changing the oil regularly every 25 hours no filter, the engine that i got is a n/a 0 360, the engine is running great however getting close to tbo, would changing back to shell oil be wise. thank you
  9. The mooney that i'm picking up is a c model, with a Lycoming O-360-A1A, so do you run your egt at about 1400.
  10. Thanks for the replys, i got a digital egt/cht, with the airplane, it just seems to be burning more fuel than what i planned for fu, between 11 to 12 gph @ 6000 feet running about 24mp and 2500 rpm.
  11. Hey guys, i dont have much experience with carb operated engines and i would like to know how to properly lean an engine, any tips and instruction in how to properly do it. thanks
