  1. Which one is the Encore? The 252? Or is that a special edition of it.
  2. @Seth will tell you the only Mooney worth upgrading to from an F is a Missile.
  3. But hey, a parachute's a parachute, right? I guess there's only one way to settle this question. @gsxrpilot is your inbox full, did you disable messages, did you block me, or did you buy a Cirrus?
  4. I would think "cannot" has a different implication than "will not" but maybe I'm reading into it too much. I wouldn't even know how to disable messages or block someone.
  5. That could be the reason, but shouldn't it just say the mailbox is full? Cannot receive messages seems to imply he got banned from Mooneyspace or there's a glitch making him unable to receive messages?
  6. Can't get a message out to Paul. Whats up with that?
  7. Just announce that you're on downwind or talk about the seatbelt sign and you will get the warm northeastern welcome! *Kidding, don't actually transmit on guard unless necessary.
  8. Not so hard anymore with Uber. If the airport is close enough to where you need to go and it’s not completely in the middle of nowhere, can make do with Uber.
  9. Just cause the dream to is to fly a Mooney doesn’t mean that a flight school skyhawk isn’t on the path to fulfilling that dream I think that taking it slow and doing it right makes the long term goal of being capable of flying a Mooney more realistic. Stay alive, don’t burn out, don’t quit, and let the long term desires get you though some of the tough or boring parts. My four half pennies say that a good conversation to be having is what kind of Mooney might satisfy your mission and what kind of path would experienced pilots best recommend to getting to that mission effectively and safely. Even if a Mooney is not in the cards for getting there.
  10. What difference did you note between idle and off?
  11. @SCPDaddy I’m curious why you’re looking at a Mooney and not a Cirrus? They seem to have biz people pretty well convinced that anyone can fly it and it’s the safest because they have the most gizmos and parachute. So, I’m just curious what makes you consider a Mooney instead?
  12. Yikes, that's some job you did!
  13. $1600 and an apology note for overcharging you so much last year with a check for a $700 rebate.
  14. Welcome to Jersey.
  15. Did Chip Wright get all his content from this thread or pure coincidence? I see it was posted yesterday.
  16. Brandon is probably the number one most talked about person... apparently so much that some people can't stop sharing their enthusiasm about him on guard. But, let's all be mindful that no matter how much enthusiasm you have about someone, anyone, Brandon or otherwise, just like 911, an emergency frequency is not the place to be professing it.
  17. Not my recording but it shows the kind of stuff that’s been going on that is causing distraction and tying up a frequency for emergencies.
  18. And pray tell what the correct name is when you enter straight in downwind from far out?
  19. Thanks for the reminder. Sounds like everything was handled by the book then.
  20. Mike, I’m so happy to say you don’t get to make any calls or send any donations for this one!
  21. A lot of cash lol
  22. Been there done that. This is why I mute the radio output on the audio panel rather than fiddle the volume. Can’t say that entirely stops the same mistake but it makes it quicker to realize rather than the subtlety of a turned knob. Here’s a quick check of your volume: un-squelch the radio and see how you hear.
  23. If you can manage the cost of keeping 2 instead of trading, I’d suggest keep the E another 3 months and fly the heck out of it. Lots of pattern work and some cross countries. Then sell it and move to your Rocket. It might just be a bit of a jump to go for it right away. But in order not to pass up on the opportunity, maybe you can buy yourself some E time by keeping both briefly.
  24. Not that I’m aware of. That was definitely there when I got it ten years ago. I figured it came that way. I do believe there may have been some work on flaps or ailerons due to gear up in the past.
