  6. i have a 78 c model, its just me and my wife and sometimes our dog. im 6'3" 200 and i fit nice. Only thing about c models if you have broad sholders it will be a lil tight. I felw my dad and we rubbed shoulders a bit. how ever the backseat in my moomney is for a dog or 1 passenger in my opinion
  7. I have a C model and it has 26 gal tanks and i do have visual gauges next to gas caps
  8. i only have the inboard sensors and i know they need cleaned. But my question was for the mechaincal sight gauge Piloto. worse case scenario, when i put fuel in it i can mark my own lines.
  9. I havent torn into the tanks yet. I wanted feed bck first. Heaven forbid i break those things. If i put 10 gal in there and calibrate it to that do you think it will be closer to accurate for the others?
  10. when full they are way above the 25 gal indicator. when they are at 5 gal it shows empty. when at 15 gal its bewteen its dead center between 10-15... and the higher it goes its the same... seems to be reading 3-5 gal more than actually in tank.
  11. Going to do a partial reseal on the tanks this weekend...

the right side is nice and tight. Went to fly to KDAB, filled up tanks, left side leaks near full. HAHAHA so i just sealed it today. Hopefully in 48 hrs, all will be well!.

  12. Hello mooneyspacers, Im fixing to do a reseal on my fuel tanks. I was curious if there is a way that i can calibrate my mechanical fuel gauges that are located next to my filler caps? Currently they are off by a good bit. When i have 15 gal in the tank the gauge depicts close to 20 gal. Anyway i can fix that or am i SOL? Thanks
  13. Thats a good site. Curious why some of the resturants i been to recently are not on there. I will continue my search, but thank you
  14. hello fellow mooniacs ! Would anyone have any recommendations for a flight to get a $100 hamburger in the SE georgia area? Taking my dad on his first flight in the mooney and wanna grab some food. I was going to do a P&P mission but nothing in the area that was up for grabs. I wouldnt mind flying 1-1.5 one way to somewhere good.. please let me know. Looking for a sunday (16th) flight. thanks
  15. i just installed a skytronics ignition in my aircraft. I have bendix mags, it wasnt to hard. I have about 1.2 hrs on new harness and so far so good. I paid $160 for them from Aircraft spruce>
  16. Thats exactly what i was taught. Even when i flew twins for my multi instrument i always flew the squared technique. so when yall say we fly at 2500 RPM it sounds like full speed ahead to me. I just need to get more expirence and time flying. and CLEARLY study my manuals some more. I really apreciate your expirence. I need to get as much flight time in as possible before i go across the pond again soon.
  17. Im going to expirement with the target egt, i wasnt taught or remember that procedure. Im confused by the ROP. What is the rich part? Say for forum purposes my egt peak is 1400... Can u describe whats rop ? Thanks
  18. Thx hank, this makes sense more and more. With the temps going down i will be able to try that EGT test. The few hours i do have in my mooney i been flying 23 square or 24 square. As i me tioned before about my high time engine, i dont wanna be to rough on her. Me and a friend made a great spreadsheet so i can start calculating the best speeds, alt, fuel flow. This helps me greatly, thanks again to you and all the mooneyspacers!!!
  19. Very much appreciated.
  20. This is what i normally do and then i read threads about LOP and ROP, i have a very high time engine and dont wanna throw a valve.
  21. Yes sir... I believe its on the #2 if i remember correctly.
  22. I have no idea what i was thinking. My hands and mind are not working well together. No fuel flow instrumentaion at all. Just standard mooney equip for now... if i can find the spare $$ i was looking into a edm 730/830. Not fuel injected either.. jsut the ol O360a1d.
  23. I ben browsing some of the topics on here and im embarrassed to admit i still get a little confused on this LOP VS ROP. This is probably wrong but i fly the old student pilot way... climb out rich depending on ALT and once level.. leaning to a slight roughness and bump it up 50-100 rpm... i would really like to grasp and understand this procedure. Again sorry for the ignorance. i just recently started flying my mooney that i resurected so im still "learning" i know when i fly i have egt from 1200-1450 ish. Insight please?
  24. i would kill for your panel
  25. I have 78 c MODEL, IM 6'3 190-200 lBS.. I Fit comfortably. when i have a pax its a lil shoulder to shoulder but nothing to uncomfortable
