  2. would it be that mooney made its numbers based off weight of aircraft and lycoming did the numbers based on a different airframe?

Does anyone fly with an ipad or iphone using foreflight based off the phone itself? do you lose signal about a certian altitude? do you recommend a gps reciver? im looking to start using my iphone with foreflight when i fly my trips but im curious if i will lose gps signal above a certian altitude. i seen this on aircraft spruce http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/dualxgps.php. would it do me any good? thanks yall
  6. i have experienced a mag faileeeee fligt a well... the left mag faied and the right kept on ticking. I was at 3500 feet and the engine started sputtering. I richened the mixture and it ran decently til i got to my home airport and landed. A lil scary but nothing you havent been trained to handle.

  10. Alternator.. Im thinking its a regualtor issuse... Once light comes on i reset the master and it will reset for a bit and then trip again.

  12. see how it looks after a few landings. From what i hear thats the meain cause of seal failure. I just got my mooney and i need tank reseals as well.

So as alot of you know i finally got my frankenstien mooney annualed and flying, now im down for a harness due to 300 rpm drop, anyways, just recently my voltage light likes to play games with me. Started at low power nothing, bump up to med-high power light comes on (this is on ground). i apply a load to it, comes on under med power, sometimes it would come on during T/O and i would recycle the master and it would stay out. My volt gauge (unknown reliablity) says its charging. Could this be a voltage regulator? anyway to confirm? thanks

  20. I replaced over 200 rivets in the wings.. Over 50 in the flaps... Corrosion control, overhauled DG, newer radios, new cylinder, overhaul mags, new plugs, tires, paint, carb rebuild, intercom installation, new seats, annual, and i still have things i wanna do and need to do.
