  1. I respectfully disagree.
  2. You would benefit from an upgrade of your heading/Altitude hold controls. An Accutrak and or Accu/flite in addition to a smaller control box. Brittain and Ebay are your friend. The controls and servos for the altitude hold can be refurbed/yellow tagged by Brittain for a modest fee. Well worth it.
  3. My 66 has the PC control mounted right by the Hydraullic/brake fluid reservoir. Pilot side. Small panel forward of windshield. Take cowl off and then remove the panel.
  4. I believe that the United States IS EXCEPTIONAL and that STRENGTH IS LEADERSHIP and LEADERSHIP IS STRENGTH. and that there is no FREE LUNCH.
  5. Sometimes it not what you say or do, but HOW you say or do "IT". The United States is divided. Two sides on top of a mountain ledge. There is no longer any "middle-centrist" viewpoint. Blame: The airline for trying to save some fuel Blame: Ukraine for giving up their nukes Blame: The Russians for their expansionist power seeking Blame: The Europeans for becoming reliant on Russia for their Natural Gas Supply. Blame: The U.S. ...for NOT being energy independent. How 'bout that border?....Good Times...
  6. Newsflash: AssfromCB now states: You are a DUMB AMERICAN KID if you feel pride in your country and enlist in the service of your country.. Dumb, Moronic, Stupid....Your words You have no understanding what a CONSERVATIVE is... Second news flash: AssfromCB thinks we are all kids...He is the experienced knowledgeable parent showing us the "right way"... Smug, Elitist, Arrogant, Socialist...my words Keep sucking from the government tit. Keep taking my money to better yourself.
  7. News Flash! Performing civic duty now is stupid.... Dateline 7/18/14 when asked about participating on jury duty-those that participate on jury duty are "to stupid to get out of jury duty"-J.P. Stelmaszek
  8. Ask Eddie Andreini's family-Travis Air Force Base-Accident/Fire/Emergeny Response-What they thought of the government response? 1-minute standard for response. 4-minutes to get to his overturned aircraft. Repeated replies that I am "O.K."...Burned alive while crowd watches... Damages? Law suit? Just one of those things? I don't think "sorry" cuts it here. Mayber the writer could sharpen his axe and grind it on Uncle Sam? Or is the blade one-sided for Big Corporations?
  9. Who did the overhaul? Consumer Aviation did a good write-up on some of the top shops. Give it a read. 500+ since overhaul to new limits at Poplar Grove. Doing great so far with oversized cylinders. Knocking on wood as just like watching golf and the announcer says "That is his 15 green in regulation"....the guy pulls it into the lake. My vote is to overhaul at a shop to new limits. A shop that has a good reputation.
  10. Bottom line: As long as there is a legal system that allows puntitive damages...as long as there are big pockets...actuaries and decision-makers at aviation insurance carriers will elect to "settle" vs. rolling the dice. It is the "wise" business decision. The jury pool is vast and lawyers of course do their job and select the "best jury". Best being the most compassionate to "their side". Some call them "Morons" for acting the way they do...Some would call them compassionate. That is why I like the story. If its sole purpose is to get kids out of uncle _____'s plane by educating the parents...It is a winner in my book...and will hopefully lower my insurance rates because kids won't be as much at risk because they will say "NO, you are not flying today. Have you see the weather up there"!? Pretty telling when you look at the pilots background...the assessment of the contributing causes...and yet the carrier settles. As Bruce Hornsby said: "That's just the way it is"...
  11. How many of us Morons are out there AssfromCB?
  12. How about for drivers over 80 too?
  13. That is pretty funny. His piece does NOT address the evil's of insurance companies in any way. Really, the opposite commenting on pilot error/training and weather as the leading areas.
  14. When a liberal gets struck by lightning, does it make a sound?
  15. I actually think this is a pretty honest and "fair" story. It is timed with the annual pilgrimage to Oshkosh. A coincidence? I doubt it. This is a 10 compared to the USA Today 1 on scale of sensationalism. Was this a happy GA piece? NOPE. Was it full of lies...? Not in my mind. The real question is why print this now? What is the REAL REASON behind this story? 1. To Educate the non-flyer on the exposure of pilot training? 2. To Educate the non-flyer on the perils of weather? 3. To Eduate the non-flyer on their exposure as a passenger flying GA? (Weather, pilot training, Insurance) 4. A general assault on the perils of GA? 5. A hit piece that taxpayers should not be funding GA at such high levels? 6. Small jets are DANGEROUS rich people...Commercial...SAFE? 7. Don't fly on a small jet (rich people)...fly commercial? 8. It is pick on GA pilots that don't buy insurance day? 9. It is educate GA insurance carriers that they should be charging more day?...'Cause I know how to underwrite better than you 10. It is get under GA pilots skin by exposing the perils of their passion day...Hey get responsible and have insurance so when you hit that house the people will be: O.K. day?
  16. Sven: Bravo, Thank you. For me, your prose was beautiful and cathartic...
  17. Carpe Diem. Positive thoughts, and reflection. To die by living, by doing something you love and are passionate about. This is my hope. May the strength of thought of many repair, and grant safe passage to one.
  18. I would go with the Aaron. Best batter of all time. Hands down superior over the Bonds.
  19. ARI sandwich cowl mod is .95AMU. That is my price point.
  20. DON'T like this...and most other posts here. Sorry for the loss of life.
  21. +1 to all
  22. Yes. They have the color band. Can't remember how much oversize. Didn't require new pistons, just rings. I will sign up right now for that 1300 hours over 20. Thanks for the feedback.
  23. I seriously need to use smiley faces more so everybody knows I am kidding...
