I had to do that when i did my initial training in mine too. Even though it was only a 5 hour dual so the insruance would sign me off the flight school wanted me to add them. I was not charged anything extra by my insurance company.

I had the same problem and the Mooney dealer in Calgary ( Calavlier Aviation)charged me $200 bucks to degausse the frame. Solved all my woes! There is a complete procedure issued by Mooney on this. I may have a copy around. if i do i will scan it for you.

I am with cruiser. I painted a red line down the middle of the hanger floor and use that to guide me. I , like you, only have about 2" of clearance on either side. I have never used the extenders. I welded up a little tow bar myself. As for the fridge....no explanation required to tell you what to do with that...LOL...load her up and we will all come over to see the new hanger and drink all your beer. Just put lots of pop in there for me as i dont drink.

Too bad he is not a US scammer. You guys have the stolen valour laws there. He could be locked up for a while for both the scam and the fact he claims to be in the navy serving in theater.

The costs associated with handling lead and disposing of it costs a fortune! and i am not joking. It is almost impossible to get anybody to take by products etc. and that was a pretty good revenue stream for us once upon a time.

It is looking that way. At least from a production standpoint. But if the cost of a barrel of oil keeps going up then all bets are off no matter what happens.

Urs: Could not agree with you more. If we had enough planes out there it would be a lot easier to keep at least one refinery operating full time to produce just avgas. The second issue is the lead. Most goverments want to see the lead gone. As far as the taxes are concerned we have the same issue here in Canada. When i was in Saudi we paid 5 cents per gallon of gas because they look after their own first then sell on the open market. If we did the same we should only be paying about .50 cents a litre here. Not over a buck.

I hate to tell you guys this but the price of avgas is artifically LOW! ( i am in the oil and gas business.) It costs a fortune to process 100LL as you need to clean the entire plant out after running a batch of avgas due to the lead involved. Refineries actually lose money on avgas but are mandated to provide it until a new fuel is available.

Who cares what it costs? we own and fly Mooney's! I am the same. i will never sell unless i get tired of flying and that ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

Add me to the flying pets group. 2 very large german shepards. One 80 lbs , one 100 lbs. Both LOVE to go flying. The only problem is the slobber all over the back windows and nose prints. They love to look out the window. I put a big blanket down in the back to eliminate the shedding problem.

Squirrel: you may be new but it looks like you learn fast. A truly smart man learns from others mistakes and mis-fortune. I am glad Daneil is OK too. Such a shame , trying to upgrade your skills and look what happened. I am sure we have all been there we were just fortunate enough to have different outcomes.

I always pay for a hanger when i am on a trip. Why take the chance of theft or a hailstorm overnight.
