  1. George has that also. He just needs to tilt at that windmill.
  2. The only thing from preventing us from burning G100UL tomorrow is inertia. Any refinery should be able to produce it now. It is commonly made components that need to be mixed in the proper proportions. Not rocket science.
  3. NO, that would never happen. So, if you put up blinds there are warnings and attachments to keep kids from being strangled by the cords. Must be a big deal right? Prior to the warnings, hardware, and changes to blinds cords, about 6 children per year were killed in the US. Not exactly a common issue. BTW, more kids are killed by being backed over by their parents.
  4. DCS, Digital Combat Simulator. is a combat flight sim with some very well modeled aircraft. The basic sim is free, then you pay for additional aircraft and "accessories." You can add an well done aircraft carrier. Different battle scenarios. Does WWI through modern day. Some civilian aircraft. BTW, they do have an AH-64. Also Huey and Hind. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/helicopters/ And yes, there are companies that make Cyclic and Collective for flying helicopter sims. Complete with proper grips and buttons and switches.
  5. No, he is asking about brakes for the right seat.
  6. I don't know. A friend of mine did aerial mapping flying as a career for a LOT of years. He enjoyed it
  7. Actually they are the same engine as the S-3 Viking. So were designed, as you say, for low altitude and low fuel flow. I don't think they are used on any Gulfstreams, but they are used on a number of Regional Jets, as the CF-34. Interestingly, there are some uprated CF versions, that would be neat to pop on an A-10 and give it the ability maintain energy better when maneuvering.
  8. Yeah, many of my buddies did want that and got it. I never wanted that job. And am happy with my career.
  9. Looks like a MAD boom.
  10. Yes, the same amount of air per intake cycle. But a different amount of fuel do to the change in time of the intake cycle.
  11. The even bigger joke is that the F-35 can do CAS. The USAF says it can. But the ugly secret is that what the USAF did was redefine CAS. To the AF, and no one else, CAS is getting personnel and equipment to the battle area. Nope, that is not CAS.
  12. Agreed. As for ADD, with not separating kids by ability and teaching to the lowest level, you get a lot of kids who are bored in class.
  13. Are you really that jealous???
  14. Nope, not in my case.
  15. When you change the RPM you change the amount of air moving through the engine. More RPM, more air.
  16. I flew the A-10. Back in the day when 500 feet was high altitude for us.
  17. Hmm, I flew a lot of hours in jets without any autopilot at all.
  18. Again, the problem is doing studies on low doses to anything is to: 1) Find a sufficient size population with documented low dose. Not only documented that they have a low dose exposure, but the amount of exposure. 2) Fine a sufficient size population with a documented zero dose. And then, make sure that there is no other possible exposure that could give you the same results. Correlation does not mean causation.
  19. It is documented in children with poor diets.
  20. If there is a race track nearby, there are ethanol free race gas also. It lasts much better than the normal pump gas
  21. The Russian helicopters do have ejection seats. They have explosive disconnects on the blades, so they depart, then you eject. Like the canopy on a fixed wing, except in most cases you can safely eject through the canopy. Not so safe with blades still attached.
  22. Yes. And the chute stays in the seat, so less stuff to carry to/from the aircraft. You just put on the harness.
  23. I understand that they are talking about the paint pens. And it should be controllable. But hex chrome is NASTY. But it works well.
  24. If the MicroKit one, you need to upgrade to the 200-C. It checks the gear switch.
  25. If a number of people change their own oil, look at a waste oil heater. My FBO shop has one. No cost to dispose of used oil, and heats the hangar. Whatever you run in your hangar to heat, other than electric, mount a CO alarm to make sure.
