  1. I think this is what I'd do for the time being.
  2. I believe the value of a man's word is no longer what it once was. That being said, I bought my plane from a gentleman who was wonderful in this regard. We basically negotiated the deal over the phone, and finally met to trade check for bill of sale.
  3. And when the engine stalls they just fall out of the sky.
  4. Coming from an older 172, where fuel gages were wildly inaccurate, I'm curious how accurate you've found the fuel low lights to be. I believe they are supposed to come on at 2.5 to 3 gallons of useable fuel remaining. Running a tank dry gives me the heebie jeebies, but if the light is accurate I'll use it.
  5. Well, learned something today. Never heard of ceramic coatings before. Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  6. How do you like the CGR-30? I'm just about done installing one and it sure was nice combining all those gages into one. So far really pleased with the display. It has some great features that I haven't got a chance to play with yet. Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  7. Does anyone have experience with this radio? Is it reliable? Good idea for a new installation? Warranty?
  8. Removed this gage for a panel update. No issues. $115 shipping included. Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  9. I've made some boo boos forgetting something while wrenching on an airplane. I've found it's essential for me to go back through all the maintenance steps I've taken. I check all the things visually as I mentally rehearse what I just did.
  10. Could the DME hold button be causing problems? Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  11. So much data...so little time
  12. I'm in the process of installing an EI CGR-30p. I believe some of you have dual engine indicators for oil temp, etc. My question is, are there two places on the IO-360-A36BA to install an oil temperature probe? What about fuel pressure? Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  13. I picked 3000 only because I'm a newbie Mooney pilot. Maybe once I get some more experience, I'll feel comfortable with something shorter.
  14. When you say it was installed on an inspection panel, was a hole drilled in the inspection panel to expose the probe to the outside air?
  15. It did end up coming out to about 5 gallons in my airplane.
  16. Should be the same for the J model as well?
  17. On an M20J, I'm trying to get a handle on what empty and full look like. If no fuel is visible straight down through the filler, what is the maximum amount that could still be in the tank?
  18. ATC rarely. Nearest controlled airport is 60 miles away. Airspace can be a little busy in certain areas but ATC wouldn't be able to pick up half anyway due to mountainous terrain all around. Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for the tip about Google. I found the thread you described Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  20. You long time mooneyspace guys probably roll your eyes every time one of us newbies posts up a new topic. It's likely been discussed somewhere already ad nauseum. But a cursory search brought up nothing useful. What generic products have you had good success with in regards to cleaning windscreens? 25 years ago my instructor recommended Pledge, but it isn't all that great at removing bugs. 21. Nice video. Which I could work that fast.
  22. Count the cost then...do it! Having another Mooney flying has no downsides. Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
  23. I've got two hours in the Mooney now, on the way to the required 10 hours. Looking for some suggestions on ways to improve the cockpit smell. This plane was hangared and not flown for a while when I bought it. It has that old avgas smell, pretty strong. What do you gentlemen suggest for lightening it up a little? Air fresheners? Flying with door open?
  24. What's missing on the RAM iPad mount to connect it to the yoke? Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
