  1. I wanna know who's trading a Rocket + cash for an E. What does that E have?!
  2. If i dont know what im thinking, clearly no one else will so no one can stop me!
  3. Ah i think i misinterpreted what you originally posted. Its not backup power, its the backup battery for the module itself. My mistake.
  4. Every G1000 plane ive flown has it on its own backup battery bus. Does yours not?
  5. buy a 150, 172, or a p28a if you have to do training in your own airplane. Otherwise finish up with your ppl first. It will be a lot simpler than buying a complex plane to train in that goes a bit faster than what you're used too. That said, I personally think that plane you listed is overpriced, though without going back into research the market i couldnt tell you by how much overpriced. What exactly is your "mission" with the plane? You could go down to an E model, or up to a J for a bit less/more money if you're only looking for speed. I personally love my E for a friend and I easy trips around Texas. 4 hours to cross the entire state is great! And i dont have any speed mods on my E.
  6. If i had to guess it would be for a second AHRS system. Thinking to some of the G1000 installs where there's only one AHRS for the screens and they too have a secondary AI/mag display.
  7. Dirt, grime, the inaccuracy of the scales used to weight the plane in 1965. All that fun stuff. Ive always kinda known older plane reweighed are going to have "gained" some weight but never realized it could but in the neighborhood of 100 for a small plane. I expected like 30 or 40. Just noticed the graph i posted is slightly inaccurate. It starts at too low a weight but it basicly looks just like that just shifted upwards a bit.
  8. Well my WB problems are possibly over. Put the plane on scales, and unsurprisingly I found an extra 100lbs. The good news however is the CG shifted forward to 47.2 which lets me put things in the back again! Fully loaded for a trip this week. 5 hours of nonstop flying time with that hour reserve I like! (+/- some numbers)
  9. I could see it with a few of the J add ons. They already get around 150 stock.
  10. New labels for switches Clear the interior. I used a green machine for mine and it made it smell a whole lot nicer. Bose A20 headsets for bluetooth. Keeping a roll of shop towels and glass cleaner in the back. AND 2 ropes/cords for tie downs at airports. Many airports dont have ropes.
  11. HUH! TIL! Thank you for the information. Also for reference in my E So in looking around some. Dual G5s with the LPM is 5,520. Going up to the 275s bring it to 7,350. A single Aspen is 4,495. I personally think the G5 would be a better path if you're planning on getting a gfc500 AP at some point in the future and for having 2 ahrs units.
  12. Thats the 930 right? I should bite the bullet and buy that....
  13. i would go with the first one personally. Do you already have the aspen? if not id look into dual g5s. I had thought you couldnt remove the vacuum system with a single aspen unit.
  14. Ive already taken this joke way to far, haha.
  15. Subscribe to my onlyfans and we'll talk
  16. No one here just cracks open the storm window and lets loose? Come on its not that hard!
  17. The ability to send someone to the moon using slide rules doesnt change the fact that subtracting weight when you should add it means there will be errors in the future weight and balances of the airplane. Even if its "fine to do it" right now the math says no, its not. The CG is aft of the envelope and until i can get information that says otherwise, even if its "safe", its not legal.
  18. would that not go through the body and to the wing, thus not associated with the actual baggage compartment itself? I still am looking for the original drawing that got the tank approved for install, there might be something in them.
  19. HAHA Thats funny. No, no i am not. And interesting. I checked the TCDS and it also says 120. Hmmm. Wonder if the tank is really 25lbs like it says on that old WB sheet now, and if it is why is my plane now limited to 100lbs in the baggage compartment.
  20. I hear Hawaii only has 100 but i cant confirm
  21. A few people here have reference the 120lb limit for the baggage compartment. I dont have my 1965 poh on hand but i was sure it was limited to 100lbs Regardless on the original install of the tank, it was listed as 25lbs empty. Im really unsure. I should be getting a new WB Thursday.
  22. Bath math from the 1970s When i went through and redid the WB from the 7 previous, i found quite a bit of error so yeah a reweigh is def going to help. And if not..... well time to add some weight up front.
  23. Im not sure about removable, but Im more than likely going to just get my AP to put some up front and add it to the WB. Having 950lbs of "useful" means nothing to me since i cant use anything behind the pilot seats. 20lbs on the firewall gives me enough that i can actually fill the aux tank and have 30lbs of bags in the back seats so i can actually fly the plane.
  24. After my wings got repainted, one of the shop guys made me these nice stickers.
