  1. Log in on the web to your Foreflight account. Go to Logbook Export a copy as a .csv file
  2. Just for the record, my wife doesn’t like it when I tell her I am going to the airport to rub Myrtle’s tummy and give her a bath.
  3. Contracts are worth far more than the paper they are written on. That is why people use contracts. They are enforceable in a court of law. If you are dealing with an honest shop who damages your airplane, they will fix it. If you are dealing with a dishonest shop, you need a contract. Same goes for buyers. Contracts are only valuable when the parties involved disagree about something. If both parties are honest, you can usually work things out without lawyers. This is the world we live in. It's not always convenient, but its the best system available. I am not going to send a mechanic to some far away hangar to do a pre-buy because someone doesn't want to let their plane out of their sight. If that is a requirement, then I will just pass. I am not criticizing, it's your plane, do as you wish...I am just not interested under those circumstances.
  4. That would be acceptable to me...not sure how the Beech guys would feel about it.
  5. The problem is the ENORMOUS amounts of cash that it takes. Most people have no clue about how much money it takes. Inventory is expensive. Inventory that doesn't move is unaffordable. Just to have 1 of every part for one airplane is hundreds of thousands of $$$$. How many dollars worth of inventory do you think Mooney should carry?
  6. That is why you have a contract. The world isn't perfect, but if you are dealing with honest people, there should not be a problem. If you're not honest, I don't want to deal with you anyway.
  7. When I bought Myrtle, the seller was an hour or so away. I flew down and did a test flight. The seller and I agreed on the price and terms, and signed the sales contract. I put a deposit in escrow and he brought the plane to my mechanic. I flew him home and let the mechanic do the pre-buy inspection. Found 2 minor issues which the seller agreed to fix with no problem. Done deal, what is so difficult about that? To the guys who won’t let anyone inspect their plane outside their hangar…no thanks. The sales contract spells out the details. If you aren’t willing to have an inspection performed outside your hangar, on your plane that has had owner maintenance on it for 15 years, then I suspect many folks won’t be interested in your plane. My plane is in impeccable condition and an inspection would verify that.
  8. Should a Mooney owner go over to BeechTalk and explain to everyone over there why they are happy they didn’t buy a Bonanza? Asking for a friend.
  9. All it takes is cash…that’s hilarious.
  10. We went to the Ark Encounter a couple of weeks ago when we attended the MAPA event in Lexington. We flew into KLEX, but you could fly into either 27K or KFFT as well.
  11. Awesome prize! I wanted to win that.
  12. It has been a great learning experience thus far
  13. Outstanding company and some excellent presentations.
  14. I would not refer to the DA50 as a thing of beauty.
  15. Yes, the FBO is ran by WalMart. The restaurant was closed during the pandemic. They have 2 very nice Toyota crew cars.
  16. I can recommend: KFYG in Missouri, but that may be a bit far out of your way. KROG in Arkansas. They have a nice FBO and courtesy cars. KJBR in Arkansas. Very nice FBO and courtesy cars. Was there 2 weeks ago. KLIT in Arkansas. Gives good access to amenities.
  17. Mrs. Hubcap and I look forward to seeing y’all again this week….and Turbo too!
  18. I like to do it after a warm front passes over. Then you can do it in actual with a 400’ ceiling.
  19. My wife and I have been to KRAP several times and love it. We try to go the week after Sturgis.
  20. If I need practice or currency I typically fly a “round-robin” shooting 2 different approaches at 2 different local airports and the fly an approach back in to my airport and I’m done. I can do that in 45 minutes or so.
  21. One challenge to making this work is finding 20 planes in the same relative condition. I have no interest joining a collective who barely keep their planes airworthy. I keep my plane in tip top shape and it requires little during the year other than oil changes. A few hangar queens would spoil this arrangement very quickly.
  22. If low time pilots want to buy Mooneys, they certainly are able if they have the financial ability. Then everyone can complain about their insurance going up when the new guy forgets to put the gear down. There are 19 pages of gear-up comments in the Safety Forum, and how many end up being relatively new owners? Again, I am not debating the merits of training as I am all for training. I just attended the MAPA event in Lexington. I have just read too many accident reports where low time guys either end up as fatalities or they break their airplanes, to think it’s a good idea for them to be flying around in high performance aircraft until they gain more experience.
  23. I don't believe the medications were considered to be a factor. I believe the final NTSB report showed that the trim was set to full nose up, which would have been the likely trim position for landing. That would be consistent with the eye witness accounts of the incident.
  24. I know I am in the minority on this subject, but I am not an advocate of buying a Mooney until more experience has been acquired. A new Mooney guy was killed right after takeoff, along with his SO at KOJC a few years ago. He had owned the plane less than a month if I am not mistaken. I believe he was flying a M20S, but nevertheless, he made a mistake in a high performance airplane and it was fatal. http://www.kathrynsreport.com/2020/01/mooney-m20s-eagle-n602tf-fatal-accident.html Don't misunderstand, I love my Mooney but I would prefer to beat the crap out of a C172 that belonged to the flight school rather than my Mooney. Get some experience and then buy a Mooney. Just my .02
  25. I do not. I assume the limits would be published.
