  1. I own a 1989 bravo! They're so much fun to fly. Congratulations to you, beautiful machine.
  2. Worked like a charm!
  3. Here is some good info about spark plugs, engine temperatures from Lycoming upon start up for what it's worth. I was reading about spark plug fouling and thought this could be beneficial. Spark Plug Fouling.pdf
  4. Yes, dynamically balanced prop is next on my list. All my bravo fittings are snug with no leaks. I did use loctite 701 and let it sit for 24. There is a very small leak that presents on the passenger side cowl flap / front wheel door.
  5. Yep. They're not cross-threaded, they just wiggled themselves loose.
  6. Mine are leaking right now!
  7. These batteries are 2 weeks old, the switch is on RIGHT.
  8. Hey Rick, My load meters were low, too. I just add two new batteries installed after my overhaul, and they seem to have changed. I didn't take down the actual percentage but I will look tomorrow, as I'm flying into Scottsdale. I'll try to remember to take a picture for you.
  9. Hey @donkaye, about how long did it take your engine to settle after break in? What are your CHTs on average?
  10. It's a great plane! I purchased N1085G fom Dave 10/2020. Just completed MOH, and it's settling in nicely!
  11. Well hell, I guess we went old school
  12. Just a quick update, N1085G flight from KJCT to KTUS was uneventful. Engine break in was performed. We took off, circled around the field, just in case we had problems. Then headed home. We followed Lycoming break in procedures and took data the entire flight. Thank you @John Orcutt for all of the 45+ years of knowledge with Mooney and prior breakins. Why go at it alone?
  13. I purchased these videos, they were very helpful.
  14. That's what I'm saying! I went from a 172 to a M20M!
  15. Plane has been sitting for 7 months because of MOH and current batteries are 5 years old. New batteries have been purchased and installed.
  16. What a beauty, sure is nice to have a spare. I like the tire it's on ... That's the way to ship. The engine was borescoped and showed no signs.
  17. This is what my mechanic ordered: Concorde RG 24-15 times 2
  18. Since I purchased the plane in OCT 2020, it was new to me. The oil analysis was normal at the time of purchase. The last oil analysis in March 2021 was high in iron. I had the plane in for oil change that FRI and this happened on a SUN. I was burning one quart of oil with each fill up. I purposely chose the highest altitude from KBTR to KTUS for safety. About 10 min prior to the incident, my fuel burn was jumping all over the place. The oil pressure was on the high end of normal. The ironic thing is I was reading the POH the get more info on these 2 clues. When the incident occurred, I really didn't know what happened. There was a loud boom, then sudden loss of power. I declared a emergency with center, and already had my landing spot picked out. I pulled back on the throttle, pitched for best glide and committed to landing the plane. I remember when landing I had 15-17 inches of power, just enough to taxi back to the other side of the field. I initially thought I experienced a total loss of power because I could not hold altitude.
  19. 2040.8 TT since new on this 1989 MB, Exhaust valve in cylinder #2 separated & lodged in the turbo over Mason, TX. I was going to wait until July 2021 to overhaul but the engine dictated otherwise.
  20. Just send Just sent you DM
  21. That's a big difference from 11L! Thanks for the offer, I'll take a rain check on that. My hangar is off 21 directly in front of the Sheriff's Hangar. Handy Hangars, next to Million Air
  22. Do you think replacing 2 working batteries from 2015 in a Mooney TLS Bravo is premature? I purchased the the plane in October, 2020 and just completed a MOH, new hoses, turbo overhaul, prop overall, fuel tank reseal, etc. I have battery minders, but I just don't know how long the batteries will last. Being in the Tucson heat, I would rather be safer than sorry. Any thoughts?
  23. Same situation, I purchased a Mooney Bravo with a high time engine and it crapped out on me over W Texas. The mechanic in Junction, TX had a good relationship with Airmark in Ft Lauderdale so I went with them. They did a great job and the wait was over 6 months. Their big issue was sourcing cylinders.
  24. Interesting. I'm going to look into fine wire spark plugs when I get my plane back into Tucson.
