  1. Very rare I get a gear warning sound when I retract gear after takeoff (electric, Dukes). Tower says all 3 wheels up and “unsafe” light is illuminated. Did anyone had a similar issue and is this a safety concern? Also jokes about Johnson bar are always welcome
  2. It’s brown and it is a sticky
  3. My fuel sender has some kind of sticky goo on it around bolts and sender flange. My guess it’t to prevent small leaks at bolts. Does anyone know what product it can be? I need a bit more of it
  4. Just got my set if visors from Don installed! Looks great, can’t be happier!
  5. Did anyone try ovation paint schemes on vintage mooneys? Or these look funny on shorter bodies with rectangle windows?
  6. While seating at the restaurant! Nice!
  7. Is there a software (paid or free) with airplane templates paint scheme designers use? I want to visualize some of my ideas
  8. Is that a revolution across various manufacturers with unified interface / protocol?
  9. Here is my flat panel where it is in front of the glareshield on a copilot side
  10. Where did you get a new glareshield (thanks, @carusoam)?
  11. I was in hope that I can just replace the top part of the dash, not sure what it’s called. The one between the windshield and the panel where you put your cheeseburgers on
  12. Yeah I think you get it right. Not sure it is a bend, more like a tilt
  13. My panel is actually flat but in the co-pilot area it’s a bit in the front of the upper dash because it’s bent and this drives me nuts because I can see all the avionics and wires inside the gap. I also wonder why Mooney decided to to this tilt?
  14. Who knows why our Mooneys have this weird “step” in the panel? Anyone has an experience making it flat? I guess the shape of the dash needs to be changed as well?
  15. Yep, this one, it’s no longer available
  16. Anyone has this publication? Link is 404 5 years later
  17. @fuellevel I see on your website that fuel senders are either frequency/resistance/voltage. Do you have senders that are dual output and can be used with old indicators as well as new digital ones? I need a pair for Mooney M20E 1966 SN 1215 as retrofit to use with original indicators and to be able to work with Dynon in the future
  18. Is your E’s SN 470 thru 831?
  19. I thought they are either analog or digital. And buying analog doesn’t make financial sense to me because I might want to upgrade to digital gauges at some point. At the same time buying digital gauges will require digital gauge, too. Do you mean their sensors analog and digital in the same sensor?
  20. Bump. I need both fuel senders parts AC5642354 and AC5641991. I am aware of CiES but my gauges are analog and I don’t want to spend a fortune on new analog gauges while I am thinking of updating the panel in the future
  21. I purchased a cheap DA polisher from Harbor Freight, I am not planning on skipping arm days in a gym
  22. Fortunately I am in SoCal but yeah, this corrosion is one of the most important reasons I wanted to repaint. Any suggestions how to deal with it without making an airplane polka-dot because paint can’t be matched?
  23. I tried: 1. F11 - nothing special about it. Adds a little bit of a shine and surface is very slick after it but it does not remove oxidation 2. MirrorGlaze Show Car Glaze #7 does a good job pulling dirt from paint pores and filling it with oils but it is a short-term fix with a lot of elbow grease 3. Finally on another surface I used a combination of a clay / polishing compound / polish / sealer with some minimal amount of nano ceramics (because the real thing is very expensive) and I really enjoyed the result except for surface corrosion that now stands out on a mirror surface. I think I will stick to this approach for an entire airplane but I am still not sure that after all the effort my sealer is good enough to protect my work
  24. What if I only polish top surfaces? Will that decrease lift because lower surfaces will have more drug? :)
