  1. Bumping the thread with my use case: I am installing Dynon + GNS430w and I want to install GNS430W antenna (GA35) instead if KA 92 since the hole pattern is the same but it is too close to the VHF. My plan is to move VHF to the belly and use this spot for Dynon GPS antenna but I am not sure how involved this will be assuming I will need to fix VHF antenna holes first. It is right on the seam. Can someone point me to the right place in the AC as to how such repairs on seams are usually done?
  2. Yes, I will paint this tube. It really is not that bad as it appears in the image: very light corrosion I have a similar symptom on my pitot CB - it holds for a minute or two and then goes off. I will just replace them all
  3. This lonely CB is an aux fuel pump and it is in it’s home location. I can say the same about other CBs in a left bus (pitot, exterior lights) so it is a mystery for me why one of them is on a jumper wire
  4. I believe this damage is from the unknown past. I saw it and touched and smelled and I believe it’s when this airplane had it’s original landing light (I have LED now) and for some reason this CB was not replaced. Anyways I am replacing an entire panel and I don’t want to miss even a tiny detail this is why I asked this question
  5. Yes it is
  6. That was my thinking but it is not longer and that jumper wire I have made me think there might be something else
  7. I am going to re-do an entire panel. It will get all new circuit breakers / wiring
  8. Looking at an electrical system diagram for my 1966 E there is a gap in a power bus bar (in red on the attached image). In my airplane that last circuit breaker is connected to the bus bar using jumping wire. Does anyone know why bus bar does not go across all circuit breakers and why wiring diagram does not show that jumping wire between 49 and 108 or am I chasing a red herring?
  9. Omg I must be blind! Thank you
  10. I can't find power boost light on an electrical diagram while it is a standard piece of an equipment. As I am planning my avionics upgrade I am thinking what is connected to the power distribution bus and via what circuit breakers trying not forget anything. Does anyone know how this light work?
  11. As I am planning my avionics upgrade (Dynon) in a 66E I am thinking of the situation when both standby instrument (EFIS) and PFD can turn off if both poles (Battery and generator) in a single master switch fail. Perhaps I am concerned with both poles being in a single enclosure. Thoughts?
  12. I purchased a used 430w and would like to install it and certify for IFR. As I am gathering all documents (I don't want to install at Garmin dealer) I have current STC and AML from FAA website, I also have a letter of permission to use the STC (found on the Internet but 400w installation manual from Garmin website also says they allow STC to be used by dealers, mechanics and owners). STC calls for Garmin400WSeries Master Drawing List, Drawing No.: 005-C0221-00, Rev. “B”. I can only find revision "A" on Garmin website. Does anyone have a revision "B" or later? The rest of the documents (AFSM and CI) are good
  13. I will take the second pair
  14. More pictures from the delivery day! Name sugestions? An entire team that was working on this day Left to right: Brenda (sales), Teresa (SEO), me
  15. Folks here is the moment I was waiting for! Final colors and reveal! This was such an amazing project to work with Art-Craft together. They really do an exceptional job and I encourage everyone to talk to them before you decide to repaint your airplane even if you don't plan to use them as your shop. If you do decide to paint at Art-Craft please use this link to get an additional discount: artcraftpaint.com All previous videos are in the main post.
  16. Thanks. Is this the same type of a tape for all locations? I bought this one for the cowling: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/cowlingchafeseal.php?clickkey=6458
  17. As I am getting ready to deliver my freshly painted airplane I also try to get a sense of where I should apply an anti-chafe tape in order to protect my new paint. One location I think is where top cowling meets avionics access panel. Where else?
  18. I can ask Theresa but for the context is there a worry or concern?
  19. Yep all panels were painted in the last video. Wheel wells, too! Thank you for the anticipation speech can't wait!!!
  20. TBH I don't know but looks like zinc chromate
  21. New episode! Prime and paint!
  22. To clarify: I don’t have an electric trim, only manual
  23. I had this happen several times during maintenance: I put the trim wheel all the way down and then it is stuck in this position not turning anywhere until someone goes and turn the rod in a battery access panel. Then it loudly clicks and start working again. Kinda scary if I am not careful and turn it all the way down in flight
  24. Here is the moment I was waiting for! Chemical paint stripping! Video is made in cooperation with Art-Craft Paint Inc: https://artcraftpaint.com/free-paint-scheme-design-services/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=mooney
  25. I am hanging there day and night with my camera
