  1. Thanks everyone. Will check it out.
  2. Does anyone else find that their iPad, in my case a mini 4, while running, in my case Garmin Pilot, slowly discharges while plugged in? I have an adapter in the cigarette lighter port and notice that I see to lose about 10% every hour.
  3. I said that on my last overhaul. Sadly, it started to fail again but I also had to upgrade to a JPI 900 as my OilP transducer failed. From about '86 on they put in a different transducer which is not supported and impossible to find so I was left with an upgrade, which I love by the way. So, I've now said it again, the next time it fails, i'm going solid state.
  4. I use Joey Cole as well at DNN. Not too long of a flight for your, especially if you're on the south side of BNA. All interstate if you have to drive as well. You can usually find some MSer's to help out on a shuttle flight if needed though.
  5. Slight correction in this regard. With respect to an engine, it is usually considered that, if any part of the engine fails, it is a failure of the whole engine so the case would not be covered. However, if the rod damages the cowling, the cowling should be considered for coverage. One of the easiest ways to think about what is covered is, if it were a brand new airplane and something happened (name the scenario) who would you call first, the manufacturer (warranty) or your insurance carrier (accident).
  6. So checking more into the GI275, it appears to be way more expensive after you add all the necessary sensors. Looks like the engine kit only comes with egt/cht and oilP. Everything else is extra. May have to call an installer though to make sure I’m reading this right.
  7. We've certainly got 1st world problems but, man, it's frustrating.
  8. Thanks Jeev, I checked out your site and it does appear to be a great deal. Forwarding your info to my Service Center to see if they'll order it though you instead of direct from JPI.
  9. I called a third party on getting one but they confirmed that all new orders still have to be configured at JPI...
  10. That's what worries me. It is California so there's not telling how long they'll stay down. Furthermore, I fear their backlog will then be double what it was previous. That could mean a total down time of 6 or so months.
  11. Thanks but i recently received that very unit and am about to send it back. It was a faulty unit from their Cores bin with a sticker that said "erratic". Guess what happened when I installed:)
  12. Interesting. I’ll have to try and call them back then. Can’t get anybody. Thanks for the info.
  13. So, my OilP transducer failed on me a month or so ago, just before this all went south. Went to place the order for an EDM900 but JPI had already closed their doors by order of the Governor. Best I can tell, there's no near end in sight for California. However, EI appears to be open as they're in Oregon. Now the tuff part, I'm down for an annual and can't be released without a functional OilP. I can't find the OEM transducer, note that it's not a common one apparently (XD03011-02001). It's a longer tube style one. Do I ride it out to see when JPI reopens and then wait 4-6 weeks for the build or just go with a CGR30P as I wasn't planning on replacing the fuel quantity?
  14. I may head up there later next week weather permitting if you're available. Working from home like many others right now so I have some flexibility in that regard.
  15. Hello. I'm based at Cherokee (CNI) with a J I'd be happy to let you check out. I've actually got to get it up to DNN this month for annual. Let me know.
  16. it should be under "interfaces" but I get an error when trying to access it.
  17. It does work, just seems erroneous. The attitude indicator doesn't seem to track what's going on so I'm not sure if it's a GTX345 issue or an issue with the App.
  18. Eric - Have you used, if you are equipped to do so, the AHRS function on FltPln Go App? I recently had a GTX345 installed and, while I'm able to now access this feature, it doesn't seem to be working properly. Not sure if it's an App issue or Xponder issue. Hope to use a free trial for Garmin Pilot this week on a flight so i'll see if that works but thought i'd check with another FltPln Go user.
  19. I'd go with the J. That 750 is great. I joke that it runs a close second to which one I'd rather have operable, it or the engine.
  20. I'm right in your "flight path" at CNI and use Joey for mine. Happy to try to help but i do believe weather will be a factor.
  21. I have a Mini 4 that I found fits perfectly between the yoke horns on its side and the perfect angle and stays there (in cruise anyways). I've routed a power cord from a USB adapter at the cigarette lighter to then follow to the yoke. Everything is pretty well out of the way, easily accessible and readable as it sits. Nothing is used but friction to hold it in place. You could use some velcro or the like if needed I'm sure. I had a RAM mount on the right hand side, about where you're looking at panel mounting. I was actually thinking the same thing myself. But, i found that when i wanted to really look at the charts, especially during approaches, i'd be pulling it out of the RAM to place it in my lap.
  22. We found it funny a couple of years ago on a trip to FL. Me, Wife and two young boys (3 and 1 at the time) plus car seats and luggage. We had more room in the J that the Kia Soul that waited on us at the FBO.
  23. Let me know what you think of this one. Mine is getting long in the tooth so I'm looking to replace it in the next few months.
  24. Agreed that having someone travel to do it will be difficult. I'd try to negotiate having it flown to a service center or Mooney specific shop for the prebuy.
