  1. I still have my display but not sure if it’s what you’re looking for. I’ll send a photo.
  2. That’s a good idea. I also have a Home Depot crawl space dehumidifier in my hanger set at 55% humidity. I’m also in central Florida. It has a pump attached to a hose I run out the side of the hanger. Keeps the entire airplane dry.
  3. Sorry about your arm. That s*cks! I think the engine part has been answered. Only thing I’d add is if someone here close by and has some “R” time maybe you guys could fly together a few times. other things I’d think about is topping off your tanks, every once in awhile reposition the plane so your tires don’t get a flat spot. Maybe a wash once or twice to get the hanger dust off? All can be done with one arm and a hanger elf I would think. one I first had my plane I was working on and off offshore oil rigs a couple months at a time. Above is what I had my mechanic’s assistant do while I was gone.
  4. I was going to ask you this question also. Loop to the tail here too.
  5. Are you at WACO Regional? If so I would walk down to RAM. If you’re at one of the other two then I’d still call RAM and being that close to Kerrville I’d pick up the phone and start asking David at Dugosh for thoughts. How long ago (years not hours) was that overhauled?
  6. Yikes! It’s seems so inconceivable the I was there a couple weeks ago.
  7. When I flew over yesterday there was a 172 taking off. I also didn’t see any NOTAMS. Here is a picture I took from 1500. Might not be able to see much but the west and south side of the restaurant structure is wiped out. Lots of debris in places ther shouldn’t be. When I traveled back up to Yankeetown and the mouth of Withlacoochie (river I live on) there was a couple sheds down river, a house on the point looked finished and a few boats on some of those vacant islands offshore….lots of leveled trees.
  8. Fine here. I’m next to Crystal River and Cedar Key. We got up 50 mph on the wind. Not much rain. Lots of debris clean up yesterday. I’m heading to the airport this morning and going to take a short flight up the coast.
  9. Yes, you will want to prep by sanding and feathering an area larger than the bear spot so your patch is smooth around the edges then prep with zinc chromate I am told. I like the idea of the paint shop putting it in a ready to use can and not messing with an air compressor or brush.
  10. I’m also interested to see where this goes. I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile. My mechanic has walked me through it but I have never pulled the trigger. We walked through the different sanding grits (can’t remember) and pre coat/corrosion. But then many questions like - do you use an air compressor sprayer, what nozzle, do you need a catalyst, do you use a clear coat….yada yada ….so standing by for someone to walk us through this from start to finish. thanks Dude!
  11. I used Hector at AEROCOMFORT and he is always my “ go to” guy who I call first.he did all my trim, mouse boots, glareshield, windless, etc. However sometimes he gets backed up. Another option is AIRTEX interiors. They sent me my carpet set (floors & door panels) when I did my interior in 2020. Hector will do all the custom logos, etc. AIRTEX does not. http://www.airtexinteriors.com
  12. Kind of far but my mechanic at X35 has done plenty. Red Sky Aviation. If it’s a few days I might be able to take you home.
  13. UPDATE: received TSO’d WAAS antenna from aircraftspruce a couple weeks ago but today was first day I had a chance to fly and install. Instructions talked about setting correct torque when installing but nothing about sealant so thanks to @N201MKTurbo for the instructions. I did use electric silicone sealant I found at ACE. New antenna works 4.0.
  14. @Amelia, sorry I didn’t see this post earlier but I wanted to say hello fellow Aspen lover. Stay the course….plenty of options out there and to keep your Aspen. Especially if you just want basics, shoot an approach (which my K-200) does awesomely. I also have no oil being pulled from my yard. A horizons a horizon …..an HSI is an HSI….and last I checked my days of the field moving 30kts away from me pitching and rollover were over so yeah….Aspen is fine.
  15. Beautiful! I’d have him dial it up a little at next oil change but sounds like things are running cooler. Yeah, climbing at red line is where it’s at. I still pump 23.5 through the climb.
  16. Hey, hopefully last question. I have the new antenna coming this week. On the old antenna previous mech did a nice job with sealant around it. So after I peal off the old one, what do you guys recommend for sealant around new one? RV?
  17. Thanks everyone! I didnt realize there was a difference between the GA35 and my other antenna. So also good to know that the antenna I plugged into my 430W from my 250XL is GPS only.
  18. Had an issue last couple weekends. My 430W kept dropping satellites last weekend but would then come back for a while. Today when I started up I had zero GPS satellites on the acquiring page. i detached and reattached cable at back of unit and at the antenna. Also sprayed some contact cleaner. No GPS satellites Then I swapped the #2 GPS antenna and put that cable into the 430W. Wall-a I now had GPS satellites. Put the 430 antenna in #2 GPS and as expected I had no satellites in #2 GPS. So my question is….given the way this slowly failed, can our GPS antennas fail? I guess I’ve never heard of that. The antenna is a GA35.
  19. This is a perfect plan. If this is your first ownership experience you will enjoy it much more by keeping some money in the bank the first year or two for any surprises. Out of your pre-buy you will have a list of squawks that aren’t critical but over time might be. Try and fix every item on that list at oil changes or as time permits that first year and make your Mooney as mechanically tight and perfect as you can. Then at your first annual you will have no surprises and neither will your wallet. Then after that first annual start treating yourself with some little upgrades as a reward to yourself for flying and maintaining the most mechanically sound Mooney in the fleet.

  21. +1 fit making sure your fuel flow is set accurately. Your temps do seem high….assuming your throttle and airspeed are set for cruise climb. You should see about ~22.5gph to 23.5gph maybe 24gph fuel flow at your red line during climb. I also climb at red line to high teens and not cruise climb. Better fuel flow, performance and air and better on engine. Did you have baffles replaced at annual? Also the inter-cylinder baffles and sealing? I had this years annual dine at Dugosh and he found a half dozen places that weren’t sealed after my overhaul. Between the baffles and my fuel flow being set correctly during mid-summer (34c to 15c in the climb) at red line I see all temps around 360 at 120knots, ~700fpm and 23gph.
  22. Start using your hands when you explain everything…..even finding a parking spot….and start every sentence with “there I was…..”
  23. I just had mine replaced at annual. I bought it from RAM aircraft, my part number for my TSIO-360MB was 2172-344. ramaircraft.com Give them a call and they will be able to sort the right part number. They have gone up. Mine was ~700.
