  1. Update: spent all day yesterday and verified audio panel has a good seat and the two black screws Skip mentioned are secure. Resoldered the three lose ground wires and also touched and verified each pin receptor in the ICS box connection and still nothing. Got the speaker and pilot PTT to work though. I also looked at each wire coming out of phone jacks and verified they travel and connect into individual sleeves that all look in tact. Also took the shrink wraps off at each connection to verify all still secure. i think my next step is to get plane to Dugosh for annual next Sunday VFR on speaker and hand held and let Gulf Avionics troubleshoot and/or start rewiring new audio panel and comm jacks in. PIREP on Gulf Avionics at Kerrvile?
  2. Does anyone know how many wires should be coming out of the pilot phone jack and the emergency jack?
  3. Spent all day out there, no luck. Wires appeared to be in tact. Disconnected jacks from holder and checked washers and reinstalled. I found three wires behind the audio panel (white with black stripe) that had a lose solder to the brass bar which I guess is a ground. I tried to resolder but couldn’t get good contact. I did wrap them tight around that brass bar but no change. Also speaker was still working entire time but when I went to leave, I have no speaker now and pilot PTT is out
  4. Thank Skip. Yes, I failed to mention- when I plug into my emergency jack it’s completely dead. I can’t hear the PTT like when I’m in the normal Jack. I get same result when I’m in the normal jack and I select pilot isolate on the ICS box. Sitting here and since I was by myself I can’t remember if the ICS audio or XM music comes through. I guess that would one more step to isolate the jack or not.
  5. @GeeBee resurrecting this thread. Do t know if you saw my post for “comm issue” but I am pretty sure my issue started from lose pilot comm jack and I am experiencing same issue you described here. Can someone walk me through how to resolve. The Jack is now tightened back up but I still think something is grounding out because I have no audio. Speaker works fine.
  6. That might be the issue. A few flights prior my pilot Jack was lose and comm was in and out until I hand tightened it. Worked fine. If that grounded the entire system how would one troubleshoot/resolve?
  7. UPDATE and still looking for advice. I was able to get a second N.A.T ICS/Intercom box and swap but still same issue as above. After trying different audio panel boxes and this ICS box does anyone know where there is another spot behind the stack that all headphone jack’s eventually come together that might be causing no receive audio in all headphones on both radios? Again, speaker audio is fine.
  8. No radio work recently. Swapping audio panel had same issue and as you stated all seems secure behind the audio jacks. Speaker works fine which is leading me to believe it’s the ICS/VOX box. But I do get a green light on the ICS/VOX box so it has power.
  9. Folks, Took off today to drop airplane at Dugosh. 20 minutes from home base everything worked fine. Got the switch from departure to center and stopped receiving on all comm jacks and two different headsets. When I transmit I could see the TX on the G430 and the G250 and I could see the RX when folks tried to reply. When I got back to home base people in the pattern could hear me transmitting in the blind but I couldn’t hear them with intercom in pilot isolate or intercom or speaker on both radios. We tried swapping comm control panel but no luck. Right now everything is ver faint we can hear with the motor not running
  10. @LANCECASPER, yes but if it was installed a card that had a 10 hour trial offer vice permanent SVT data then it would expire after 10 hours of on time.
  11. Thanks Tim. Yes, confirmed with the shop. They think I was given a 10 hour intro data card instead of my permanent one when getting the MAX upgrade.
  12. Yesterday went flying and noticed that my hot key on my MAX PFD was missing the page “1 / 2” under hot key #4. Even before I had S/V installed I always had an option to get to page 2 but this time I couldn’t toggle between the two pages. Notice the missing field above the “min” selection hot key. Is this as simple as re-unlocking my S/V?
  13. For your S/A. I just ordered my clamp from Ram for my Dugosh annual end of the month. Good news is they have them in stock. The “other” is that they are now $775.00
  14. I was also fortunate enough to join @Alan Maurer at the Ocala Summit. I’ll echo that it was a great learning and social weekend. To be able to discuss specific Mooney aircraft handling techniques and Mooney maintenance topics on top of safety reviews and flights was an added benefit. The Summit is my new BFR plan every two years.
  15. Thanks Brandt! I think that’s my plan. Will probably also drop off my glare shield and maybe seats with Hector at AERCOMFORT
  16. Sorry, just saw your profile. Didn’t come up on my phone….. I would crack the throttle 1inch from cruise, bring the rpm back to 2200, speed brakes out, cowl flaps closed and trim to 150/155 IAS…..should give you 1k/min…..if you are running LOP just leave the mixture….
  17. What type of airplane you flying? M20K? 252? 231? Watergate, inter cooler? i take it no speed brakes.
  18. Hi, I searched this forum and saw a few Florida Mooney Service Center PIREPS from a few years back but looking at something in the last year or so. Annual is due in February and thinking of giving my local mechanic a break since he is so backed up. Plus use opportunity to get an MSC annual in the logbooks. I have an appointment at Dugosh last week in February but just wondering what the local opportunities and if local folks are pleased. Never been to Kerryvile so also a small bucket list item.
  19. Wet Wing East in 2016 and no issues. As Lancecasper stated, there is a reason folks wait so long to go back to Wet and Weap….we are lucky to still have two great options for our Mooney’s. Plus they are just really nice people. Edison was also taught by the great Piloto - Jose Monroy
  20. Awesome! Glad it worked out. I love these kind of fixes. I also just signed up for Ocala Mooney Safety summit.
  21. Hah! I’ll never turndown an old fashion…..
  22. Sometimes a seeming complex issue might be something simple….i had same issue long ago when using tow bar going left rudder to center to put back into hanger…also would hear a mild thump…. After studying nose wheel linkages I decided to check rudder pedals inside the plane….turns out carpet bunched up under left rudder pedal of copilot. Sure enough, adjusted carpet and resistance stopped. Made sense because couple flights before I gave a rather large friend a ride. He must have pushed off the floor to get out and slid carpet forward. So just offering as possible simple issue. I don’t think I felt it that much airborne because you never really need full rudder deflection and what I use for rudder probably just pressed up against the carpet. I do remember feeling the issue during taxi similar to using tow bar but not in flight.
  23. Right next to me at X35. @Greg17572, if you need mechanic, Ron at Red Sky here at X35 might be able to assist. Let me know if you want me to reach out to him.
  24. Awe F, that makes a not a good Christmas present! Where are you located? The fact you’re asking for a mechanic leads me to believe you’re at an airpark or somewhere that mechs are hard to come by.
