  1. Help me out. What in this thread was racist or had racial undertones? If I am to understand racism as defined here by Erik I want to hear "his definition" as used in this thread.
  2. 1100fpm up to 5500 and 6500 on last flights (3-blade prop)-Cool...
  3. Really? Spend a lot of time with Tom? Really know him. O.K. -Tom owns and flies a P-51 (cool) -Tom is a pilot and motorcycle rider (cool) -Tom does movies like Oblivion with awesome aviation based sequences (cool) -The trailer for July M.I. movie shows Tom riding sport bikes and hanging off the side of a jet on take-off (cool meets awesome) I don't KNOW Tom Cruise. I do really enjoy his movies and anybody that flies a Mustang is Cool in my book.
  4. Ya, I do. Matt Lauer, not so much...
  5. When I retire I will be looking to continue flying my Mooney and find a Beck 550 Spyder kit car to play with. James Dean, Porsche 550 Cool.... Piper Cub with drop down doors....Cool. Cessna 150/152? Whatever floats your boat...Or in the case of a float plane (any) COOL!
  6. Please post some photos standing in front of your Vespa's so I can see what cool looks like. Now tht you mention it Howard W looks pretty "cool" as he adjusts one of his many belt buckles prior to straddling his Vespa in his tight pants.... To each their own. Might have been "Hip" to be in a scooter gang, but I am not wavering on my NOT COOL zone Vespa assessment. Tom Cruise raising his fist as he races an F14 on his Ninja....Cool. I have no doubt that Howard thinks he is "cool" on the Vespa. Last I checked this is a sitcom about nerdy scientists... vroom, vroom...
  7. Wash-rinse-repeat. This is like comparing a banjo to a guitar. They are different, but both have advantages. I would go with a 2-blade for two reasons. Faster&Cheaper. Now a statement like "Vespas are cool"....Chic? O.K. Neato? Yup. Groovy? Yes. Cool? Not so much. Vrooom....Vrooom. Like comparing a Mustang experience to a 152. Are 152's cool?
  8. After. WAY after...
  9. Sometimes the depth of arrogance and lack of sense of humor on this board is astounding...humor and jokes are often at the expense of others. Not possible to not offend someone in this PC world. Humor. Something the world needs more of.
  10. I just look out the window. they are up. they are down. they are in the middle...
  11. +1 on Brittain. I bet they have one on the shelf and will give you core value and reasonable price.
  12. Life imitates art yet again. OU students booted from campus and University for being idiots...and exercising the right to free speech. In America you apparently no longer have the right to be offensive. Land of the Free. Home of the Brave...as long as you don't offend anyone. Otherwise? YOU ARE OUTTA HERE...
  13. If the gear won't extend or the pilot fails to extend the gear...Gear up...then you scrape belly panels, maybe a rib, nose gear doors, rotating beacon, belly antenna's, maybe a flap hinge. All can easily be detected and repaired. Prop, easy to replace. Engine? Different story, but a tear-down/inspection and or major is a plus. There is a HUGE difference between an off field incident, as described above for potential damage and a garden variety gear up. I will/would take a recently gupped plane to a mid-time engine. Betterment? Yup.
  14. Couldn't agree more with that Clarence-"Always listen to the police" Words to "live" by.
  15. Thoughts and prayers for Harrison after an off airport landing today. Video appeared to be a low wing Naval trainer (Model with external support wires on wings). Crash was on a golf course nearby the airport. No word on his condition. PLEASE let him quickly recover and tell a great story of what he did right...
  16. Should of left them as is. I like them better in the first photo.
  17. An area town counsel is in the process of eliminating all forms of tobacco use from their city parks. A perfect example of life imitating art.
  18. How long did the US hold German and Japanese soldiers? Until the end of the war. How long should "detainees" be held? Until the US removes all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. There is no due process for a POW or "detainee". How much due process is Johnny providing? Spare me.
