I have one NOS Shaw 531-001 fuel cap, which will come with new fluorosilicone o-rings. I also have used Shaw 531-001 fuel caps that are in good shape too. Price is $249.99 plus $10 although I am temporarily backordered on Shaw 531 fluorosilicone o-rings until later this week or maybe early next week. Used caps are $149.99 each plus shipping. If you installed a uAvionix Tailbeacon then you're going to be running your nav lights all the time. For that reason you might want to seriously consider converting the rest of the aircraft position lights to LED in order to avoid a grounded aircraft scenario if you go to fly at night and a bulb burned out because you run them a lot more now. https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html <--- order here! gallagheraviationll@gmail.com <--- email me for any questions or concerns

@larryb you’re in luck, I have one in my box of used fuel cap parts. How about $10 plus shipping? Do you need fluorosilicone fuel cap o-rings too? Email me at gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com

Lots of water in tank 67C
OSUAV8TER replied to chriscalandro's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Have you swapped fuel caps? I.e. have you taken the right cap to the left side and the left side to the ride side to see if the problem travels? You said it's not the cap but can you elaborate how you came to the conclusion? James -

Hey JGG! I'm always happy to read a post written by you! I wish you were still on BT. James G -
It is a great picture! I've taken a novel approach to finding images like this through Google :)! Seriously though, the Mooney drivers have all been great. Probably the best bunch to do business with. James

These are great lights BTW!

I have new Whelen Aerospace Technologies (WAT) CHROMA series wingtip LED position lights available for sale in 14V red and green and 28V red and green. These are direct replacements for W129028, 129028, A7512-24, W628, and 628 incandescent bulbs. These are extremely useful if you are running a Uavionix ADS-B device, which requires you to run your navigation lights all of the time in order for the ADS-B Out feature to function. These are drop-in replacements and these lights come with a 5 year warranty. These are FAA TSO approved, and carry an STC. There is no EMI/RFI interference and have a 10,000 hour operating life while incandescent has a 300 hour average life. We are a Whelen Aerospace Technologies (WAT) authorized dealer. Orders over $500 ship free. You can purchase them from https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html or you can email me at gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com if you have any questions. These are great for many different aircraft brands (but especially Mooney aircraft!).

I carry both the Whelen Parmetheus Pro PAR 36 and PAR 46 sized bulbs. They are the best lights out there for the dollar before going to HID. Here’s the PAR-46. Around 170k candle power. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LED Replacement for Whelen Model #70303 Light

@StevenL757 I provided this to Whelen on Friday night so we'll see what they say. -
I have multiple sets of 14V and 28V Whelen Orion 600 wingtip LED position and strobe lights available for sale. Model numbers are OR6001G, OR6001R, OR6002G, and OR6002R. Advertised price is $652 but click on the link, and add to cart for the current price (https://www.gallagheraviationllc.com/whelen-aircraft-lighting.html). These are ideal for Mooneys with at least 6 inches of flat real estate on the end of your wings. You can use existing wiring and remove your old strobe boxes to install these. They add reliability, a lesser electrical load, and they are much brighter for VFR operations. See and be seen!If you have any questions about compatibility, please reach out to me at gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com

No joke, I keep an extra fuel cap in my AOG bag. I've heard stories of the plungers breaking or in your case, leaving it off and riding off. It may be a little over kill for an AOG bag but it's a little silly to be grounded because of a fuel cap.

I've done this and it has worked well for me but not all auto paint stores will mix it and put it in a spray can in my experience.

@jaylw314 shoot me an email at gallagheraviationllc@gmail.com or call me at 419-357-0043. Best way to ID the cap is to look at the bottom of the other one. If you need help, snap a photo and email it to me. Talk soon. James Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This one is in good shape and is ready for prime and paint. I have gotten picky with the fuel caps that I sell because there is a lot of junk out there. Probably for every five I buy, one or two are good for parts. I strip them of paint to bare metal, replace some components with new, and then they are ready for sale. Here is a nice 531-001 ready to go and I have four more I am preparing. I am not an A&P or a repair shop so airworthiness will be based on your own assessment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
