    Any good shops out there that know how to tune this relic up. Mine works but does not track nav very good anymore. I know I’m a CB so I don’t want to spend 20k plus on a new autopilot.

    My G says 25/25 or 26/26. My engine overhaul shop says stick with the book. I’ve read a lot about this lately so I’m confused. Flown thousands of hours squared so I’m old.

    Thanks guys. I’ve measured the tac with a test box or whatever you want to call it. I’m definitely 100 low or indicating 100 rpm more than actual. I’ll talk with my mechanic about the cable. Good discussion and brings up the point about not hanging our hats on book numbers that were created by a “Perfect” plane. AOPA recommends doubling required runway for safety. 135 pilots add a factor also and airlines are always correcting bad instruments.

    Just checked my M20 G with a strode meter since I have a new top prop and Pinnacle Major overhaul. The old steam tach is reading about 100 rpm’s high. I think I read somewhere that a tach can be 3% off at normal cruise power. Any experts out there. Engine running great

    I use Travers Agency near St a Louis. The carrier is Global and I am very pleased. They could not have handled my claim any better. First class people with excellent service.

    I know of Hawk in FL ,one near Fountain Inn SC several in Mena Ak I’m looking- they are all over a year out. Please rank the ones you know off. These are all paint shops

    Just got back in the air with my Lycoming 360 overhauled by Pinnacle in Alabama -great people and it runs great. I just pick up a buddies Comanche engine from Watson in Georgia. Nice folks and was impressed with their shop. Your mechanic will have the best feel for the good shops. Pinnacle came highly recommended. Happy Holidays to all my fellow aviators.

    Need to replace or overhaul my attitude indicator and got to looking at autopilot compatibility if I went to an AV30 or a G5. Talked with TrueTrak and they said Mooney should be approved soon. Also found AeroCruz at Sarasota Avionics. Sound good. Have an informal quote on Garmin for two G5s and autopilot 21k to 25k. Just seeing what my Mooney buddies are doing. I still have working Britain accutrak. Call me a CB but it works. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
